How could this being, looking no more evil than she thought Caius, be the merciless tyrant that had destroyed her villiage and all that she loved with it? But in a way it made sense, after all, many of the most beautiful creatures in nature were predators, their appearance entrancing and ensnaring their prey. The rulers words confirmed her theory, softspoken but cold, filling her with a sense of dread.
"I would jump for you, my Lord," She said, her voice shaking only a little, "But I beleive I would serve you better not as a corpse floating in the ocean, but as a soldier, fighting under your orders." She took a step out from behind Caius, forcing herself not to shake, succeeding at stilling all but the faintest quiver of her clenched fists. "I, unlike the mercinaries who serve you, have suffered your power firsthand, and need no payment to pledge my loyalty to you. I fight as well, if not better, than most of the men that attacked and destroyed my villiage." she took a deep breath before going on. "Please, allow me to serve you. there must be some way I can prove my usefulness?"[/size]
