When I was in first though third grade, I was in catholic school. This involved learning better math than some adults I know do, an extra religion class, on top of that spending some school time in church, and being in choir.
This is about choir. I liked to sing. At the choir recitals, my mom put dark makeup on me, and the kids would make fun of me for looking like a slut. I distinctly remember being threatened by both the girls and the boys, and sitting next to the girls because they probably never actually punched someone in their life.
The thing about catholic school girls breaking the rules? They make sure it's not infront of adults. This is probably why Mom never believed I was being bullied over that, and kept putting on the makeup before recitals.
I guess it was out of character. I'd lie to seem agreeable all the time, but rarely complained. gonk
