Chapter 5
I woke up and wandered over to the banana tree. Sooner or later I realized that I would get sick of eating bananas and that I would have to find another source of food. Then I started to shiver. I decided that finding food would have to wait because I needed a source of warmth. I realized I needed to start a fire.
I started to build a nest of twigs, moss (I took some to add to my bed as a giant wad of moss for my pillow) and a ton of leaves. Now all i need to do was fire. Then I remembered the survival kit. I opened it up and looked at all the stuff i could use because it was so damaged and banged up. I found that I could only use a few of the items in the kit. I found to my luck flint and matches to start a fire, bandages and antiseptic for injuries, and line and hook to fish. I lit a match and stuck it inside the nest full of flammables. The nest sparked and in a instant heat filled the cave with a glowing light.
Then I said aloud, “Now all I need to do is find more food other than bananas." I had forgotten I had taught Polly the word "food" and Polly flew out of the cave as if to show me something. I quickly put more wood I had found on the fire to keep it going until I got back and ran as fast as i could after Polly. I started to wonder where Polly was taking me.
