• A forced repetition of the daily grind
How dismal this thought has crossed my mind
A shadow of doubt we will not succeed
Why Can't you hear me scream
All alone in this darkened corner
    Won't you sit with me

A quiet walk in a quiet town
A mirrored sky when tears fall to the ground
Saddened are eyes of what we've become
    Surely we're not yet done
    Haven't we had our fun

    Peaceful eras echoing darkened days
Complacency a forethought we thought we'd change our way
Trinkets and tokens become all we have left
Our hearts shrinking into our chest
the world filled promptly with the poisons we spew
Our purpose will soon be through

Rememberance of times our lives were uplifted
Old days of young tales when through fire we sifted
We were youthful and proud unafraid of what's coming
Made these hymns to which we're still humming
All the warmth from the flames soon gone from inside us
My bones tire of unending numbing

Luminescence shone forth from ideals put in motion
Farfetched thoughts and new beginnings became common notion
Imagination with potential beyond all measure of control
When did we lock up our souls
Betrayal of ones self when put in that cage
    Our diamonds revert into coal

The time is upon us but the clock left unchanged
We move ahead chapters never turning the page
A phase of our time here on earth is now ending
Are we demons or are we ascending
In that moment of truth let us hope we choose wisely
For the time being decision still pending
