I saw a tiny butterfly
Resting on a patch of snow
Listen, can you hear
The gentle whispers of my darling friend
Do not be judgmental
Of the patch of cold
For hidden beneath my butterfly
Is a treasure as rare as gold
The golden petals rest
With a honey, nectar smell
This is a true treasure
If you’d look hard enough as well
As my friend flies away
To see another day
Knowing that in that little patch of snow
My treasured self with stay
Until another butterfly
Takes me in its arms
I am merely hidden in the snow
Away from joy and harm
