They say it's for cowards;
people afraid of the truth and
looking for the easy way out.
Others say its for those with
nowhere else to go.
I'm looking for a way out,
so I don't look like the villain,
who took the life of a fifteen year old girl.
I want to be the heroine of my story.
Be the survivor.
Let the memories evaporate from my mind,
and rain down around me.
So that they can no longer hurt me,
rip me up,
leave me torn for everyone to ignore.
Even those who said they cared,
said "I love you, please don't go."
Said, "I'll be here... forever"
I'll try my best to believe them.
But my scars from previous tries to
forget re-open and bleed out.
I know I'm not the only one with this story,
not the only one who has been hurt,
humiliated in every way possible.
But it's mine.
And they say that once you tell someone,
it eventually becomes easier.
Others don't know who to trust.

Description:
Many people, especially teenagers are suffering from depression and some end up committing suicide. A lot of those kids don't have anyone to trust to tell their common, yet unique story, so they leave it inside to rot. Some do find someone, but others aren't nearly as lucky.
I'm not so lucky. - Date: 01/03/2011

Thank you very much for the comment, i really appreciate it. biggrin It did come from me actually, I was having lots of troubles and didn't know where, or who to turn to, but then I finally decided to say something, and I thought here since no one will ever know me, but they'll see more of me than people who do know me, that I could write it here. Thank you soo much! smile

I actually think this would serve better as a short story/prose rather than a poem. Your words are very passionate and I can relate to what you are writing about, which is a heck of an intense topic. The language is also effective and the words sound like they're coming from you (you know what I mean)
5/5. This is a really great poem overall. You can take it in any direction or leave it as is. Whatever works for you. smile - Report As Spam
