I must have done a horrible thing to make Papa angry
He locked him and me inside my own bedroom
He shoved me down upon my bed face first
As I run down the endless pavement of the road
Away, away from the horror which I call “Papa”
I stare up at the midnight moon that shines me in comfort
I buried my head in the sheet as the stinging pain flowed
Trying to bite away the tears as the belt whirled down
Onto my backside whip by whip
As I run down the endless pavement of the road
Away, away from the horror which I call “Papa”
I stare up at the midnight moon that shines me in comfort
He locked me inside my room as the blood trickled onto the floor
I escape through my window leaving a scarlet trail behind me
The lake ahead with many shrouded bushes became my sanctuary
As I run down the endless pavement of the road
Away, away from the horror which I call “Papa”
I stare up at the midnight moon that shines me in comfort
I hid from the world and my Papa
Ignoring the fact that the scarlet liquid turned dark
My breathing slowed, my body went from tense to limp
As I run down the endless pavement of the road
Away, away from the horror which I call “Papa”
I stare up at the midnight moon that shines me in comfort
