I love the look in your caramel-coated, bedroom eyes,
The touch of your hand
Says you love me.
How can the angel before me be anything
But the best thing that’s ever happened to me?
I can’t decide what’s worse:
The fact that you are naive enough to believe me,
Or that I believe myself.
Your lies are nothing
Compared to the whopping fish tales
I tell my heart.
Everyday you leave me
Broken on the floor,
In a million pieces of stained glass
That can never truly be repaired.
I am not the 150-piece jigsaw puzzle you think I am.
You can’t just take me apart,
Scramble me up, then put me back together
Whenever and however you want.
I am no longer your favorite, screwed up little game.
You can’t make me change my mind,
You crocodile.
So collect your tears, put them in a jar,
And save them for someone who cares
