A friend became the enemy
The enemy, my friend
I'll walk you through, one step, then one more
Then I'll meet you at the end
How far will this journey lead
I found the tree, what happened to the seed
Sometimes you find the rules will bend
Footprints left in the sand
Staring out here comes the wave
A child stared into the distance with me
Looked at me... "You need to shave"
I smiled, turned, walked away
She asked then if I would stay
I said "No it's time to be brave"
I'm at my breaking point
Tears then came upon my face
How wonderful a girl I met
How long must we run this race
Forever and a day, never at all?
Think about what you love, no matter how small
It's time to change the pace
Which way should I turn?
A turn for the slower, into a run
Hmmm I'm feeling a burst
Hope you find out how to control your sun
Suddenly I come to a halt
Was this my fault?
What is it that I'd not done?
I'm at my breaking point
That girl tried to run the course
I couldn't believe what I had seen
My voice was impaled and hoarse
I stopped and stared
I faltered, compared
I was hit with emotion, remorse
I'm at my breaking point
I knew she was stronger than I
One thing about the cruelty that is life
One day, we all must die
The race is over, I quit today
I'll make sure not to run but play
So when my time comes, we'll be eye to eye

- Title: The Breaking Point
- Artist: Transcend_Unity
- Description: I wrote this not knowing what I was really feeling but it turned out being about the loss of a child. Not necessarily mine but I'm sure someone, somewhere out there in the world can relate to the feelings. Hope you enjoy the read.
