The sound of windshield wipers against the glass.
A peaceful sound.
One I grew up with, slept to.
The lines from streetlights shining across us in the dark.
A fun sight.
One I grew up with, slept to.
The smell of the morning dew at rest stops.
A lovely smell.
One I grew up with, woke up to.
The taste of watered down hot chocolate.
A strange taste.
One I grew up with, woke up to.
All those long nights spent in cars, stuck curled up in the back seat to sleep.
I still remember them well.
The night sky lit up like one thousand fireflies, sometimes covered by clouds that poured down rain.
The morning sky always shining in vibrant colors and the fog on the ground that looked like sleeping angels.
It almost seems silly that such things would still stay fresh in my mind after so long, but these are the memories that I hope never go away.
Each is something important, now a part of me.

Description:
A poem I wrote because of nostalgia. Simple as that.
Also, before whining about the fact that it doesn't rhyme, free verse poetry tends not to.
No stealing, please. This poem means more to me than it would ever mean to you. So write something about your own life rather than trying to steal something about someone else's.
