-
It evaporates dry.
My soul does too.
Into the sky.
You take it up with you.
And away I fly.
Then I get caught.
Assuming I’d go high.
It’s harder than I once thought.
It’s all your fault.
I had a life full.
You put it to a halt.
I have now, only a rifle.
This world is too narrow.
Give me some space.
It’s as thin as an arrow.
This isn’t a good case.
You tried to mock, you mocked.
It’s open to me, but for you, it didn’t work.
It’s here for me, but for you, it’s locked.
You’re just too much of a quirk.
I’m packed away.
You are quite a droll.
Packed to stay.
Don’t touch, there’s a hole.
It’s gone now, all mislead.
The emptiness of trust.
And all that was said.
I need a chance, like one must.

- Very nice inflection of feeling! I could almost see the images you placed in this poem. The rhythm was good too. I give it 5 stars!
