Has anyone ever told you that to love you must release your pain?
Still I wonder why I hold onto mine so tightly
If you'll let me I'll take yours too
I'll share your burden, help you get through
I stand here in the background
Knowing I have to hide my true self from you
Because I'll only hurt you
But also understanding that by wearing this razored mask
I can only hurt you
Has anyone ever told you
That the things we cannot say are all we have?
The burdens inside, the words unsaid
Are all that we have left in the end
If you'll take it I'll give you half my heart
But only if you do the same
I'll sell my soul to heal your wounds
Whatever I must do to make it all right again
I know that I once said I loved you
And soon after said I lied
Knowing that I'd break your heart
I wish I could explain my words
Sometimes the secrets we hold so dear
Are only for the better good
I only wanted to help you, my angel
To be forever by your side
Instead I tore you down and broke your wings
And if I have to hide my love just to save your life
I'll be my own sacrifice
