Standing by this twisted tree
my hands tensed
as the grass became pale and free
he dawned, red hair wintering, over the fenced
hillside as the overcast gathered
all over the sky.
He said, " I'd rathered
you stay here than die.
Wait my friend
here's a bit of shelter
I'll warm you in my hands,"
and only said,
"forget tears."
Sitting by this vacent tree
his hands so lasting
he's made his decgree
I was condemned by a wind casting
through this grey field
and weatherd sky
I said, " I sealed
the Fates so you don't die.
Wait my friend
here's a bit of song
I'll warm you in my hands,"
and only said,
"forget tears."
Lying by this rogued tree
our hands weaved together and fading
we can feel the breeze of the sea
we were forsaken by a rain cascading
our voice cried the wolves' song
into the swallowed sky
we said, " how can this be wrong
neither of us want to die.
Wait my friend
here's a bit of love
I'll warm you in my hands,"
and only said,
"forget tears."
