There you sit on this dreary day.
There you sit, wanting to get away.
The odd looks and scoffs, taunting and such
You can’t stand anymore; it’s just too much.
Yet you sit there in silence wondering what you’ve done
To deserve a share of this shame and this shun.
You might not be pretty, perhaps you’re a little greasy,
But that’s no reason to go down in infamy.
You want to yell out, out into the blue
“Won’t anyone, anyone please love me true?”
Yet no words will come, your lips have been sealed
You hope to survive this endless minefield.
But you’ve been here awhile; your hope has run low
And people still stare like you’re on death row.
Time’s running short; tomorrow’s no guarantee
So you close your eyes in this final plea:
“Let anyone, anyone, please love me!”
What’s this now? A hand on your back?
Someone’s picking you up; is it an attack?
But just a few kind words and you know then and there
That this is the answer to your desperate prayer.
You’ve finally found love in life’s diagram.
Such is the life of a can named Spam.

Ambiguity!
I wrote this poem as part of an English project. We had to write a poem incorporating at least 6 poetic devices. If you want to seek them out, then have fun. I already specified one. ^^ - Date: 05/31/2009
