Bobbing, adrift, I cannot be,
Floating away on a merciless sea
While you wait for my return
The sun's grin glints devilishly.
Powerless, swept in the tide
I struggle to preserve my pride
The distance is too far to bridge
You are no longer at my side.
"I'm sorry", I call, as sadness seeps in
Drowning my bones in feelings of sin.
This, above all, was my fault.
I slip beneath the horizon's rim.
