Crackle! Crackle! Crackle! The leaves twirled around the carved pumpkin sitting motionless on an old porch. It looked like a flat basketball and was as soggy as a boiled peanut. Its upside-down, banana shaped mouth had snagged tooth, and missing teeth. Inside its hallow core was hot, melted, wax from the tan candle, filling up the jack-o-lantern and oozing out of its mouth. The mutilated pumpkin stared down with its human-like, rectangle, eyes. Glued to its soft face was a pyramid shaped, sky blue, button nose. It smelled like a dead rat and its skin. Its curved, tree bark colored, stem was as long as a hanger. That Halloween ornament should have been mine.
Gazing outside, a smile appeared on my face because of the sight of the completely white landscape. Glaring at the salt-like sleet and wisps of snowflakes flutter to the ground, the hail bounced off the tree branches. My cheeks turned blush red and my teeth rapidly chattered. Icicles hanged in a single file row as the branches were covered in ice. As the bowl of leaves waited patiently for its robin to come back, more fragile, glass-like ice covered everything in sight. Hopping in the white blanket of snow, the artic hare camouflaged itself as the sparkling snow and sky. Snow sparkled as thin sheets of ice blanketed the soft fluffy snow. Falling from the creamy white clouds, the snowflakes formed a magnificent shape. As the rising sun glowed, the icy trees gleamed and made it look like it was made of ice. Icicles dripped melted ice as if it were raining as the sun woke and birds sang. Different animal prints formed in the snow like there was a stampede. Clumps of sleet and snow on the coco brown tree branches fell off and so did ice on the windows. If only everyday could be like today’s winter wonderland.
Dear Mommy,
Mother oh Mother,
How I Love Thee

You Educate and Entertain me!
There is so many things! I’ve got so many thoughts! I bet you don’t doubt,
That I’m here to shout!
