The night it engulfs me
I creep in the dark
For the shadows protect
My unhappy heart
Now no one may see me
I am no longer here
This darkness it soothes me
Though it causes them fear
But my protector betrays me
For someone knows where I stand
'Tis a fair looking woman
And she gently grabs my hand
I thought I was alone
The only night-walker here
But this woman, she's shown me
How companionship's far more dear
The night it engulfs me
But I am now not alone
For my lover and me
This darkness is our home
