The forest was green.
All of it.
The moss-colored trunks of trees,
The leafy heads of them.
The mist was green too.
And it consumed her.
She wasn't scared...
Despite the fact he had died here,
And she had loved him.
It was gone.
Everything she had ever known died...
With him.
She had tried to die.
To join him.
But they had stopped her.
But they were all gone;
She had gotten rid of them.
Did she kill them?
No.
She had run away.
Because they had put his body in the ground.
And made her wear black.
She had cried on his coffin,
Because of them.
So she could have been scared.
Scared that they'd take her.
But she was already gone.
Already dead.
She touched the tree...
Like he had.
It stung of memory.
She looked too the light,
Escaping through the leaves...
Like he had.
It burned her.
She wanted to let go.
But he was perfection.
And nothing is good after
Perfection.
