• One sunny day my BFF Ashley
    Took me to meet Lynda
Little did I know at the time
That she would be the nicest person I’ve ever met

    “No Ashley” I had said
    “Why” She whined back
“Because I’m scare” I told her
“She really is the nicest person ever”

    After I met her
We’d always have the greatest times
I seemed that every time we’d come over
She’d have hot coco or cookies for us

    Then one year
    When Christmas came she decided
Our presents should be these really pretty dolls
“You really are the nicest person I’ve ever met” I told her

    Then one day in 2004
We ran over there like we always have
But today was different Lynda was crying
“My cancer came back” She said.

We still went over all the time
“You are the daughters I’ve never had”
She said and “You make me feel better everyday”
These things always made us smile

Then came a time when Ashley moved
I still went to visit her
But it got harder and harder
As Lynda got worse and worse

    When Ashley came to visit
We had to go see her
But the medicine she was on
Made it hard for her to do much of anything

One day I tried to call
    Another lady answered and said
    “She’s asleep right now”
    “Call back later”

    I didn’t call back
    I should have though
    For that was the last
Chance I had to talk to her

    On July 12th , 2008 she died
The day after her 59th birthday
Lynda was not only the nicest person I’ve met
    But the bravest too.
