-
I felt the poison blades cut deep.
Blood poured from the cuts upon my face,
But I couldn’t stop yet,
For it was too late.
I could feel the poison spreading quickly,
But I couldn’t stop,
For the child was in danger,
And I must keep him safe.
Everything around me was black as night.
I couldn’t see a thing,
Yet I acted on pure instinct.
I used my senses
And soon found the enemy.
Stretching out my hand,
I called upon my power,
And sent the holy bolt forward,
Striking the enemy.
All was quiet soon after,
But my own heartbeat in my ears.
I called out to the child,
Yet everything stayed still.
I felt myself grow faint,
But held on with strength,
And let my power leak out once more,
To find the slow heartbeat of the child.
I let myself fall in utter darkness,
Then I was awake days later,
To find my light in my eyes forever gone.
Just like a blown our candle,
My eyes have become.
Now I must get use to darkness,
In order to carry on.
