I can't help but feel like,
Something is wrong,
You're standing right here,
Yet somehow you're gone.
I want to shake this feeling away,
Forget all the things you said,
Start over with a new day,
And get you out of my head.
I guess I should have known all along,
That all you said was just a big lie,
You won me over with your kindness,
But you blew it when you tried.
I gave my everything,
I gave my all,
But all you could do was stand there,
And just watch me fall.
You walked away,
So I followed, too,
But then I realized,
That I didn't want you.
I need something more,
Something that's real,
I don't need you anymore,
I hope you know how I feel.
I wish you a happy life,
With lots of love and to be free,
But something you'll never have again,
Will always just be me.

Description:
A little background info: My boyfriend dumped me last night and I realized that everything he had said to me was a lie; all the "I love you's" and "I need you's" were just a show. He's a player and I couldn't see that before... but I do now. So, I wrote this poem to get it out of my system. I plan on giving it to him someday so he'll know how I felt afterwards.
Sorry for ranting. But that was important info you needed to understand this poem better. :] - Date: 11/20/2008
