-
Rushing, rolling, resounding.
The eternal sheet of water
Spills over the cliff
Like milk
Spilling over the edge of a glass.
Water has no cells
No structure
No brain.
Something that never lived
Provides sustenance for the thriving.
And as it tumbles down
To the pool below
It sings a tune
That is unique.
A sad song,
One of sorrow and remorse.
And as the tears continue to rush
Others take no notice.
Water gives
And gives
And we take
And gulp
And are ungrateful here.
But change is not
Impossible.
If only we could open our eyes
Water's song could change
To a happier key.

- Artist: Mango522
- Description: Okay, so there's a poetry contest that I want to enter (outside of Gaia), and the theme is "Nature's Song." I wrote this up quickly, and I'm looking for suggestions. I wanted my entry to be a very unique and thoughtful piece.
