I watch
as the grass grows greener I watch.
The children learn,
and I watch as they discover new places and people.
But always,
Empty.
I watch
as my friends find their way in the great wide world.
I listen to the music surrounding me,
Feel the sadness and joy.
Why?
I watch
as everyone, everyone, everyone has someone.
Not me.
I watch
because there is nothing for me to live.
Until...
Him.
Light in the dark.
I watch
as he comes closer, shining brightly,
undimmed although he has shadows of his own.
He burns, and my spirit is brought back to life.
I'm free to live again,
No more watching unseen from the shadows
as life passes by.
But still I watch.
I will always watch
whether from the shadows or in the light,
I watch.
Because someone has to make sure others can remain,
Living.
- Title: Living
- Artist: sprints42
- Description: This is a poem that I wrote spur of the moment and sent in to poetry.com, where it was published. It's not very well known, but I can say that I've been published... It really talks about how I felt at that time in my life and how I thought of a specific person and how that relationship effected me.
