It's this day we remember seven years ago
When grief and anger shook us head to toe.
A blinding smoke and a blazing fire.
Both growing, spreading, higher and higher.
Lives were lost along with dreams.
All of them torn apart at the seams.
Husbands, children, parents, wives.
Nothing can, or will compromise
The tragedy that is 9/11.
It quickly becomes the past,
But it never leaves our minds.
It happened way too fast
To leave it all behind.
Lives were lost along with dreams.
All of them torn apart at the seams.
Husbands, children, parents, wives.
Nothing can, or will compromise
The tragedy that is 9/11.
This devastating attack,
Will it happen again?
It's the answers we lack
Of why, where, and when.
Take a moment of silence
And bow your head in respect,
As we remember the violence
And mourn for the dead.

- Artist: -MoNoTonE_PaNToMimE-
- Description: I was planning on writing a song in remembrance of 9/11 actually on the day, but I was caught up in things so I ended up writing it this morning. My inspiration for this song is pretty obvious, unless you don't know what 9/11 is. Constructive criticism/suggestions are appreciated!

- -NadzSea: Yes, I completely agree with you. We actually talked about that in school last year. I realize that this is the case, though it still can't hurt to write about 9/11. Since it was the anniversary, it just inspired me to write something about the event, although I can honestly say that with a little editing, this song could refer to any major tragedy in the world. I didn't intend on implying that 9/11 was teh most tragic thing in the world, because I know it's not. It was just the f

- The event itself was a terrible thing, however I think that it shouldn't be turned into such an occation. Yes, we ought to remember it and learn form our mistakes but people die every day from events that we cheerfully overlook. Millions of children die of malnutrition every year alongside others who are poverty ridden (refugees from the Israel-Palestine conflict for example). 9/11 has become so major because it happened right in front of the world. 5star nonetheless, though.

- This is a very beautiful poem! Thank you for writing it. I feel that so many people have forgotten that fateful day, and I feel very appreciative that there are still many people out there who haven't. 5 stars for sure. : )
