• We all must learn to share what we have with other animals. People often think that wetlands are wasted land that could be used better. They drain the marshes for farming, housing tracts, or even freeways. But wetlands really are breeding and feeding grounds for many many animals. Destroying all these wetlands can kill and reduce the ammount of wildlife, and could even increase the chance of flooding! Why would you want to cause so much damage to even a small swamp?

    All living things in a community depend on one another and on the nonliving essentials of their environment - air, water, soil, and the sun. A tree and the animals that live in it is an example of how living things interact with each other and with their enviornment. If you were to kill all of the squirrels living in an area with alot of trees, the entire food chain of that ecosystem gets destroyed! Whatever ate the squirrels will either die, or move to another area, causing whatever ate that to die, or move. Everything in an ecosystem is connected, and destroying even a little part of it can harm the entire thing.

    Polluting an area can also harm animals and their ecosystems. Animals that live near farms or lakes need to deal with pollution. When the farmers feed their plants fertilizer, the poisons rush into rivers and streams nearby. This makes the water dangerous to wildlife. The fish that eat tiny plants that are poisoned will die, and the raccoons, herons, and other animals that eat the fish will also die.

    People wearing animal skins and animal teeth probably don't think they have caused animals to die - but they have. People that buy clothes and jewlery made from exotic animals CREATE an opprotunity for poachers to earn money by illegally killing animals. If there was noboy to buy clothes of animal skins, it wouldn't be worth-while to kill the animals.

    Nature can heal itself - if we let it. First, we must stop overusing the Earth and it's resources. Only using what we need. We also need to stop polluting our lakes. Reducing the purchases of animal skins clothing will also increase the chance of endangered species numbers to increase. We must share our world with animals. The world wil then be a happier place.
