I had always hated my name. It always left a sour taste in your mouth when you spoke it. I always refused anyone to call me by anything but Blossom. I remember when I was a little girl everyone taunted me. I also remember beating the s**t out of every one of them until I was expelled. We've moved a few times after but never really stayed in one place for too long. Once again, my father sat my brother and I on the couch before he told us that this would be a new start. In other words, he got fired...again. He told us he found a wonderful home in Michigan with another job offering just close by. It seemed so cliche. A new cheap wonderful house that would end up being infested with ghosts and demons. This isn't that cliche story. No, it's something far different from it. No sparkling vampires or howling dogs. No, this was living in my veins. It was as if every shadow had jumped into my pale skin and made themselves at home. I wasn't in Hell. I was Hell.
Waking up to be in another empty unfamiliar room, I knew that today was only going to be the same as always. The first day of school would be a blur. New faces but same bullshit. I usually manged to make a couple friends but I never attached. It was too risky. I just wanted to blend in and be "normal." I walked over to the small alarm clock next to my pooh-bear lamp on the floorboards. Turned it off and proceeded down the stairs into the b***h black house. Of course I was the first one awake like always. The lights flickered a few times before the room lit. Ugly floral wallpaper surrounded me and lots of boxes. I found my clothes and got dressed as quickly as I could. Jumping up and down into my skinny jeans.
"The ********?! loud stomps came down the stair case.
"WHAT?!?" I snapped back. My brother was quick with a remark.
"Are you trying to break the floors this morning or you having another tantrum like a 5 year old?
"Shut up." I snarled.
He walked over and patted my head as if I was a kid. He always thought he had over authority over me since he was the oldest. He was the closest person I had. We loved each other but just showed love in aggressive ways.
" I gotta go catch the bus, ya ********."
He laughed and kissed the top of my head and wished me luck. Walking out the door, a cold breeze flew in my hair. Michigan wasn't the warmest place on the planet. I huddled in my coat and headed to the end of the street...
