I ran as the winds grew fierce, the pale moonlight bathing me as the snow danced around me.
The winter cold kissed my skin, the sleeping branches grazed my face.
As the ground beneath grew soft and chilled, I rested in the trunk of a birch
I watched the stars shimmer in the nighttime sky, I saw his eyes.
I could hear his voice as the winds rushed around me so.
I saw his face upon the soft glow of the moon.
As I cried, I knew we'd be together soon.
We danced around the fire, lost in each others eyes.
Love was something we'd found in our sad and sorrow filled world.
The world around us faded, the fallen snow cloaked us.
Forever innocent, forever together.
His smile faded as the arrow pierced him, ending our joy.
We fell to the snow painted in his blood, tears in my eyes
I begged for his life, I offered my own to spare him.
He held my hands and soothed me, sweet words on his breath.
The spirits began to gather around us, I fought them.
I would not lose him now, I would rather die.
As he spoke his lips became laced in blood, trying to comfort me.
His last smile was short lived as the spirits gathered and carried his spirit to the eternal home for us all.
Sorrow filled me so as the last words set in, never to be heard again from his sweet lips
" I will always love you."
As I stayed hidden from the harsh winds I prayed for a miracle.
That we would once again dance around the fire, forgetting the world around us.
The winds faded as the snow stopped falling.
I rose from where I hid, and found eyes watching me.
" I don't want you to cry."
It was him, I had been heard.
I ran to him, pulling him close. His arms so warm, his eyes so forgiving.
We began to dance, turning and turning.
The snow began to swirl around us, cloaking us.
" Do not be afraid, you will never be alone again my love."
As they danced, they rose into the skies above. A smile on her face, and love in her heart.
Her spirit was set free, but her earthly body remained.
As they faded into the moonlit night, her body too faded.
Her body was guided to his, forever together.
In life and in death, never apart.
Love always finds a way.
