Too Hard
I tried to tear my gaze away, really I did, but I couldn't find it in me to not look. I wanted to not stare. I wanted to run and to stay, and I wanted to be able to end this and for it to go on forever.
Intense green eyes pinned me just like the hands and body that had me pressed against the band hall lockers. This pattern, this familiar song and dance was just too easy to fall into. We hardly ever talk anymore, she and I, too preoccupied with other things. The words are always there, built up in my throat, but they never make it past my lips, smothered by her kisses and burnt by the fire under my skin.
In a way, I'm grateful. Because talking to her's too hard, and maybe that's why we bury all the unspoken words under our desire, hide it all beneath heated kisses and caresses, drown the un-had conversations out with breathy sighs and moans.
Because talking's just too hard.
