• PART 1 OF: The Sacrificed Sister
    ~Chapter 1~
    'Elena'

Looking back on things now, I'm wondering why I was hardly ever happy and how ungrateful I was. Then I realize why. My whole town is rude and disruptive. There is little peace in the village and everyone struggles with surviving. I knew someday things would change, and I thought that that day would be today.......

The town of Sennaray was quieter than normal after my little sister, Elena, passed on. She was what made most of this town happy, and what got everyone going for their trades, and empty meals for the day. Elena was my true happiness. I miss her like hell. She passed by trying to help a few kids home during a Bomb Ceremonial War a couple of months ago. She was only 12, and she had to die.
Elena was, I tell you, my life. I was basically the one taking most care of her since my mother left us after Elena was born, and my father was in sorrow from trying to cook meals and clean, even though I did most of that too.
My name is Primrose Denmay, by the way. Everyone calls me Prim. I got my name because I had always liked the flower 'Primrose' since I was born, and originally, I didn't have a name. Everyone called me Baby Denmay until one of my Father's friends brought me a peace offering. It was a single Primrose. Very rare in the village. You would have to escape the wired fences into the free, open woods to get one. Even there, they are the rarest thing you could find.
Anyways, with Elena gone, my father and myself...especially me got lonely and depressed. Me and Elena with everything together. I took care of her, made sure she ate, got her home from school safely. I was like a mother to her, and I am only 16.
Every single villager misses her terribly. And when she died, there was nothing good left in Sennaray anymore.
One day, I was strolling along the mini shops we have down in the village. I realized that I had been mourning Elena so much that I completely forgot today was her Mourning Ceremony, otherwise known as a Funeral, but it's longer and it's different with the burial.
I ran straight to the sign, it inscripted: Mourning, and Ceremonial Burial of Elena Rose Denmay. Otherwise known as The Happiest Girl In SennaRay.

    ~Chapter 2~
    'The Strong Mentality Of Prim'

I started to tear up, but held back my tears because a girl who cries infront of about one hundred and seventeen people, is a girl who proves herself weak.
"How long has it been going on for?" I asked my friend Annalise.
"About 5 minutes. They are about to start the Family only mourning, you came just in time considering you are practically her only family." Annalise replied.
"Thanks Ann" I said, walking through the crowds of people and their chit chat.
Then I thought 'How can I walk through those doors and stare at my quiet sister, who will look as though she is sleeping forever.?' I just can't do it. I walk in anyway, not even thinking what just ran through my mind.
"Elena!" I screamed! I hadn't believed this had actually happened until I saw her all pale and lying there. "Elena! No! How could you do this to me! Why! Why her!" I screamed, staring up at the ceiling and finally sobbing so hard that there were little puddles on nice red velvet carpeting. Elena had been dressed in one of my old dresses that never fit me anymore. It was white with a hint of sparkle. Something my father saved up to get me for Elena's birth ceremony.
Elena was pale, and she still had a bit of dust, and un-healing cuts and bruises on her from the Bombs. "Elena," I whispered "Why did you leave me? You were my life, and now I have none. I might as well die too." But just after I said that, a small lighted candle flew off of it's pedestal. "Elena?" There went the other. "Elena, if you can hear me, blow out that candle." I said, pointing to the third one over by the doors. It went out. "Now blow out the final candle, I want to see your spirit." I said, all though I would just cry. It went out before I could breathe. "ELENA! It's you! Oh my gosh!" I screamed.
"10 more minutes" A guard said.
"Elena, if you are still here, come infront of me and um, pick up one of those Prim---roses." I said, realizing someone had left Primroses there. Sure enough, one of the Primroses lifted into the air. "Oh my----" It went into my hands. I felt a cold, very cold breeze rush through my soul. "Thank You." I whispered.
"Your Welcome" It was a whisper.....Elena's whisper.

    ~Chapter 3~
    'A Call To Prim'

I'm scared and I am happy, but I am mostly angry at her for leaving me and not contacting me sooner.
"Did you know you could talk?" I asked.
"No---," She sounded surprised. "I couldn't until now." She finished.
"So, you can only talk to me?" I ask.
"Yes, I believe so." She said, still sounding confused.
"Your 20 minutes with your sister are up, Miss Denmay." The Guard said.
"No wait, 2 more minutes, please?" I asked.
"Very Well" He said, walking out the door.
"Elena, promise me you will come to our house, and visit me everyday. Talk to me. Be there for me. I love you Elena, I always will." I asked.
"I promise Prim. I love you too."
