Rose petals fluttered from the sky and gently embraced the bare parts of Losielettes skin with their silky smooth touch. The sky was azure and spacious, as florescent sunshine seeped its way downward her dress absorbed the illumination and the fabric glowed an even more innocent white than previously. Surrounding her she could see the boulevards of apple blossom trees dance carelessly in the breeze and, in the maze of their branches, she could just make out tiny bluebirds gleefully hopping from branch to branch. Envy lurked within her, how fantastic it would be to unfurl wings like them and soar away from this horrific moment. As Losielette strained her ears her heart sank, the little birds were singing, their tiny voices mingling harmoniously with the melody of the organ playing. She shook her head at the irony, how could man and nature combine so easily on a day like this?. Today was the day when she was to be forced to defy Mother Nature and yet on this very day, Mother nature chose to seek peace with mankind and glitter with her best attributes. As she walked further forward to demise her attention drifted dreamily back to the birds. Fly now, whilst you still can, she thought longingly. Otherwise your freedom will be shot down like mines is about to be...

"Focus!" her father hissed in her ear, tightening his arm around hers and causing her to jump. Suddenly she was aware of the hundreds of eyes gawking at her in the traverse audience again and her face reddened. Through the sea of spectators she saw her mothers eyes trickeleing with tears of joy. A lump formed in her throat and reluctantly she stared at the sight in front of her. Under the silky cover of her veil she could make out the crimson red carpet of the aisle dwindling to an end and the man in the extravagant tuxedo drew closer. She shuddered at the sight of him. It really was time.

The little maid lifting the hem of her dress suddenly let go and allowed the bottom of the exquisite fabric to trail across the ground. Simultaneously her father's tight grasp around her arm loosened entirely and she walked the last few steps of the aisle solitary. It was fitting how she walked alone now, this was her own fall, no one else's. As the aisle drew to an end the melody of the organ halted and the calm before a storm fell. With a hammering heart, Losielette lifted her legs up over the small step and found herself on the heightened level of the stage. Behind her she could feel the presence of the priest and in front of her, to her dismay, the man in the tuxedo stood. The man caught her eye and a twisted smirk curled his lips. Losielettes eyes fell to the ground disgusted. She didn't even want to look at him.

"Dearly beloved we are gathered here today to witness the joining in holy matrimony of Losielette Pennywaters and Sir Charles Ambergate," The priest announced, catching the eye of everyone in the audience and smiling as if it were a joyous occasion. At the front of the many rows of seats Losielette heard her mother sob loudly and the priest smiled. "Now, Now Mrs Pennywaters" he said musingly. "At least wait until the ceremony has began before you cry with joy."

The audience murmured into a chorus of laughter and a few seconds later Losielette laughed a shriek hysteria, though thankfully this slip-up went unnoticed..

The priest then silenced the crowed with a raise of his palms and the calm before a storm fell. "Now, in the eyes of God, let us begin this joyus ceramony." he said happily.

Losielettes felt like hundreds of knifes were aimed at her, ready to stab. The pre-marriage ceremony would never be able to last long enough.

    June 6th 1924 3.48pm

"Do you Sir Charles Ambergate take Losielette Pennywaters to be your Lawfully Wedded Wife?" The priest said.

Charles grasped Losielettes hands and leaned in closely, forcing her to look deep into his eyes.

"I do." he said, thumbs running across her hands.

"And you Losielette Pennywaters. Do you take Sir Charles Ambergate as your lawfully wedded husband?"

Losielette slowly felt the effect of the question sink in. It weighed her down like shackles around her ankles. She opened her mouth but found she couldn't speak.

Precious seconds ticked away in her hesitation. Looking timidly around the room, she saw her pause hadn't gone unnoticed. Out of the many awestruck faces she could just make out her fathers face reddening in rage and see her mothers head dipped down into the ground in embarrassment. Guilt riddled her, her own parents were ashamed of her tactlessness...Then panic struck her. Charles. How would that awful man react to this? Slowly, she turned back and looked at Charles. The smug smile he had been wearing all day had vanished. Shock streched his features but he quickly composed himself. Her meant-to-be-husbands eyes narrowed with blazing rage and he snarled.

"Don't you dare embarrass me." his eyes said.

Losielettes posture withered and her head sank into only seeing the view of Charles' feet on the ground.

"Well?! Do you take me as your husband?" Charles snapped suddenly.

Losielette lifted her head and looked at him with glittering eyes.

    "I do..." she whispered.

The crowd gasped in relief, even the priest couldn't help but let loose a little sigh. The smug smile that had been wiped from Charles face during the moment of tension regrew into an apprehensive half curl on his lips.

Losielette couldn't believe it, that was it all it took, two words and she would forever be wedded to a man she did not love, restricted forever to never find true love like nature intended. She couldn't believe it. Her basic freedom to experience emotion was gone. Forever.

The priest smiled as he prepared to say the final blow.

"Then I now pronounce you man and-"

    "...not." Losielette continued.

The words floated like poison in the air. Everyone who heard them died into a stunned silence of disbelief. The look on every individuals face said the same thing: Did she just say I do not take him as my husband?

Losielette slapped her hands over her mouth in shock. The words had just burst from her mouth. She hadn't realized what she was saying until she said it.

"Excuse me?" the priest said, breaking the ice with his voice. Losielete felt the stunned eyes of everyone in the room lock onto her. She didn't know what to do; the words were out and non-returnable now. It was now painfully obvious that she disagreed with her parent's marriage choice for her, she could tell that every single person in the room was disgusted at her disobedience to them. Memories of the marriage arranges flashed in her mind....

"Charles is a fine young man." her mother had told her. "To be wedded to him is a great honor, his pockets are filled with money and his social status is as high as the sky."

"Don't worry." her father said. "Fifteen is old enough to marry."

Suddenly she felt disgusted and the rage she felt pitted in her stomach boiled into a stronger confidence. Had she really been expected to marry and live with him for his money and social status? None of that mattered, especially considering how much he repulsed her.

Her life would be over before she married him.

"I do not take him as my husband." she announced daringly, glaring into Charles eyes as she spoke. What was the purpose in lying now? She might as well voice her feelings for once in her life.

Charles almost lashed out at her.

"Why you-!" he said, breaking his hands away from hers and slamming them to his sides furiously. His entire stance of body language stabbed Losielette with daggers of attack signals, she would have been worried for her safety if their had not been hundreds of pairs of eyes watching them.

"Mr. Ambergate," she began coolly. "Please contain yourself. I'm afraid I can't comply with my parent's promise of marriage because-"

Suddenly a large booming voice exploded from the crowd and Losielettes insides leaped with fright. It trembled with volcanic levels of rage as it screamed. Losielette turned, confidence suddenly demising. She saw her father had broke away from the sitting crowd and stood, fists clenched down by his sides. His entire figure was quaking with rage.

    "Losielette!" he shouted warningly.

Then Losielette realized the extent of what she had done. She didn't regret her decision, however she realized that in her refusal she'd disobeyed the roof over her head, the people who gave her a bed to sleep in at night and the people who gave her food to eat. She wondered if all the lose had been worth it just not to marry a single man...

And she was just a fifteen year old girl. The embarrassment was to much to bear. She gazed at her hands, unsure as if she was staring at them in disgust or pride.

"Losielette," Charles said, glazing his rage with his best false sugary tone.

Losielette turned and looked at him, from head to toe. She hated him; she couldn't bare the sight of him or all the people watching her anymore. She looked one last time at the sight of her parents, waved a hand...

Then gathered the skirts of her wedding dress and broke into a run to freedom.

    June 6th present moment, 10.59pm

Many long hours had passed since the moment and Losielette had been reliving the memory of the wedding the whole time. Meanwhile the sky slowly darkened like ink spilled over paper and nighttime reigned over Scotland. Unbeknown to her, Losielette became the only soul drifting the streets of Edinburgh. Everything was still around her, the only comforts she had were the echoing of her own footsteps on the cobbled pavement and the ghostly image of her breathe vaporizing into a white mist before her. It was freezing, never before in her comfortable lifestyle had she experienced this level of coldness. She trembled and rapped her arms around herself in attempt to flatten the goosebumps on her arms but did not prevail. The thin white fabric of the wedding dress held no warmth at all; the icy wind easily seeped through it and clenched its hands ruthlessly around her pale skin.

Losielette sighed and continued walking, feeling the urge to move her feet in sync to the rhythm her thoughts.

It was no good. She couldn't figure out what to do, she'd just ran out of a wedding afterall, returning home wasn't even an option. If she did sulk home, tail between her legs, she'd be forced to face her parents, and if she survived the shouting she'd most likely be forced into wedding Charles. That wasn't even an option for her. The only choice was for her to wander the streets of Edinburgh and focus on trying not to freeze to death.

Losielette couldn't believe how three words could destroy her normal lifestyle.

She wandered aimlessly lost in thought, still shaken by events. In her trance of thoughts she didn't notice the streets decay into dark alleyways as she walked, nor even did she notice the extravagant housing rot into ugly tenement houses. Time had lost it's significance to her.

Suddenly her thoughts were lost in an abrupt comedown to reality, she had been so immersed in her situation she had completely forgotten about the existence of others. A disembodied voice sounded, causing her to start with fright.

"Young Lady, are you lost?" it said.

Losielette turned round and sought the source of the voice. In the midst of darkness she could just make out the dark figure that was standing behind her. It was several feet away and even though she could only make the silhouette of the person, she could tell from the deep voice that the person was male.

"No, no. I'm not lost Sir," she said smiling. "I was just about to return home."

The figure drew a few paces closer and emerged into clarity.

"Losielette, you look extremely displaced in this dark alleyway." he said.

Losielettes stomach leaped as she recognised his features. Panic immersed her and she glanced frantically around her, searching for a route to escape. However it was no good. In her obliviousness she'd wandered into an alleyway where the only exit was blocked by the figure.

Her eyes darted around in panic. She was trapped in a dead-end with the man who looked like he had wanted to kill her a few hours ago.

    Charles paced closer to her.

"Losielette you really embarrassed me earlier," he said drawing nearer with every second. "Have you got any idea what you made me feel earlier?"

Losielette backed away and shook her head, trying to keep a safe distance against him. Suddenly she felt a pain sear through her back. She's backed herself into the wall of the alleyway.

    "I'm sorry, I can't possibly imagine-"

Charles ran into her and slammed her body against the wall. A small scream escaped her. She couldn't manage her fear now, her entire body quaked and her heavy breathes came out as icy rasps before her. Their faces were only inches apart, even in the darkness Losielette could make out the burn of rage in his eyes.

Suddenly he pressed his body closer against hers and the cold of his skin blasted over her.

"You can't possibly imagine? Then I'll teach you. I'll teach you what that embarrassment truly is," he then leaned in closer whispered ominously in her ear.

"No man will want you after I'm done with you."

    Losielette screamed.

She attempted to push him of but to no avail; he overpowered her easily and pinned her arms. Arms useless, her panic moved to her legs and she began kicking wildly. In a stroke of luck her left leg managed to collide powerfully into his shin. He recoiled in pain and his grip loosened slightly. It was just enough, she managed to free her hands and ram them into his chest. He staggered backwards. She maneuvered round him as he was paralyzed in pain and adrenaline seized her, she never knew her legs were capable of such speed! As she ran the exit of the alleyway grew larger, if she could just make it out into the open she would be safe...

A hand locked onto her shoulder and she felt herself be dragged backwards. She screamed again though the sound died as Charles masked her mouth with his hand. He dragged her downward and forcibly laid her on the ground.

There was no escape this time. He crushed her legs with his own and was out of reach of her arms.

She felt the horrible sensation of his icy hands up her legs.

    "This time..." he growled.

Losielette screamed and thrashed frantically, tears splattered as her head violently shook.

"NO!" she cried, her voice echoing helplessly into the empty night. Her dress was rolled upward...

"Hey. Knock it off." a voice said.

Charles froze. Out of the top field of her vision Losielette could make out someone standing at the end of the alleyway.

Please, please let it be a policeman...

Charles turned, stood up to a full posture and made to confront the figure full on. Losielette sat up quickly in her moment of freedom but found the path of escape was blocked by the two figures in front of her. Charles squinted at the figure then erupted into laughter.

"And what gives you the authority to tell me what to do, boy?" Charles growled.

The figure stepped closer to him, Losielette could make out now that it was a boy of around about sixteen or seventeen, and his clothes were emblazoned in blood. In the darkness she briefly caught a glint of silver emerge from a pocket of his trousers and saw it brandished into the direction of Charles. Losielettes eyes widened. The glint was the silver blade of a knife.

"This." he said thrusting the knife close to Charles' chest.

Now Charles was the weak terrified one; he stood like a rabbit in headlights, directly in the knifes line of attack. He trembled and had no hesitation in placing his hands in front of him in surrender.

"Look I don't mean any trouble..." Charles said timidly.

    The boy smirked.

"Then you have till I count to three to get lost. One... two..."

    Charles glanced back to Losielette.

    "...Two and a half..."

Charles ran past the boy and scampered away out of the alleyway. Losielette breathed heavily, still in shock. She had been saved. Someone was on her side. Losielette waited until the sound of Charles footsteps diminished into the distance before she felt safe. Flattening her skirts, she stood and sought to thank her savior. Looking at him thoroughly something caught her eye, it was a sparkle of light that emoted from around his neck. She scrutinized it and saw it was a massive gold medallion of a clock dangling from a golden chain. Never in her life had she saw anything like it before, its beauty was unmatchable. The outskirts of the clock were pure gold and on the face it was encrusted with thousands of tiny diamonds that glistened like stars in the moonlight. Its intricately spiraling hands were silver but pointed to the wrong numbers of time...

She shook her head, remembering it was rude to stare.

    "Thank you Sir-"

The boy glared at her with a wild animistic look in his eyes and looked like he was about to run. He turned but then halted; the pounding of many footsteps echoed in the distance.

"That boy! He ran round the corner!" a voice cried.

The boy glanced around in panic, as if seeking inspiration from his surroundings to what to do. Suddenly his eyes landed on the form of Losielette and he quickly grabbed hold of her.

"Just play along!" he growled in her ear.

Losielette found herself trapped in his arms. The silver knife that had been used to save her previously now was brandished dangerously close to her neck. As she was pressed against his chest she heard something. It was a gentle beeping sounding from inside his chest. In fact no heartbeat sounded from him at all, she could only hear the sound of beeping...

"Here they come." the boy said, digging the knife closer to her neck. "Get ready."

Cloaked figures then emerged from around the street corner the sound of the beeping from his chest intensified.

It was like a heart hammering in fear.

    Chapter Two

The cloaked figures froze to an abrupt halt as they caught the sight of Losielette imprisoned in the boys arms. In the midst of the darkness, the silver blade caught the glow of the moonlight and gleamed silver over Losielettes neck. The men stood perfectly still, gazes all locked onto the knife. Trapped in the midst of it all, Losielette could feel the of the glares of both sides stabbing into her All of the time, she was aware of the cold blade pressed against her neck. The knifes touch was gentle and restrained but this did not assure her, this boy, whoever he was, had the power to digg in and slash her throat at any moment. The idea of a stranger, deciding her own fate, with a blade in hand, chilled her to the bone...

Suddenly, a deep voice smashed the silence that had engulfed the area.

"Stand aside!" It boomed, causing Losielette and the men to start.

The men had no qualms about defying the order; they hastily parted to form a corridor of men. As Losielette squinted, she was just able to make out a silhouette standing at the end of the human passage way. He strode forward and as the moonlight immersed itself into him, his robes began to glitter. Losielette uttered a quiet gasp of awe and gaped. He was dressed so exquisitely it was as though the sky had been torn from the heavens and draped around him in the form of robes. The gemstones scattering the garment sparkled like thousands of minuscule stars and the golden sphere centering his chest shone like a sun. It was only through intense studying that Losielette realized the golden sphere was in fact a clock. The clock was almost like the one the boy wore round his neck, except far more lavish and extravagant. Every natural gemstone of the earth appeared to be emblazoned on it, from sapphires, to emeralds, to gold, to diamonds. Losielette couldn't even begin to name them all, it was like a rainbow of treasure encircling the clocks face. However as her eyes sought the face of the man she found nothing except shadow, shadow protruding from the massive hood he was wearing. It was only in the blessing of the moonlight that she managed to make out the gleam of eyes, maliciously lurking underneath the hood. The eyes glared forward with such intensity it sent shivers down Losielettes spine- it gave her no relief in knowing this dangerous gaze was intended to the boy who held her life in his hands.

The mans gray eyes narrowed and he snarled at the boy. "Boy, you wouldn't dare." he growled.

A smirk twitched the corners of the boys mouth. Suddenly with a swift movement of his arm, he thrust the knife outward and swung inward to Losielettes neck. Instinctively, Losielette clamped her eyes shut. In the blackness of her vision she felt pain rip over her skin and cold steel mingled with her blood. Fearfully, she opened her eyes and her vision fell to the knife. The silver blade was glossy, emblazoned with a few splashes of her blood. However, she saw the mark on her neck was just a red line of a scratch. Pain resonated but still she sighed with relief. It was a just threat wound. She was still alive.

"Just did dare." The boy said with a smug smile.

The mans eyes widened as he stared at the blood stained knife, his entire outline was quaking, like an earthquake of fear had struck within him. Losielette exhaled and relief loosened her in the boys arms. At least there was someone else who feared for her own life, it then occurred to her these were good men; they would probably give up their pursuit of the boy in exchange for her life.

But then the man composed himself and retained to his high, dignified posture. It took a moment for him to drag his gaze from the blood dotted knife but finally he managed to meet the boys face. Their eyes locked, sending daggers of attack signals to each other. Suddenly, the man laughed. "Empty threats as always boy," he said, suddenly void from emotion. "We all know you wouldn't dare kill her. A death warrant would defiantly be put on you're head if you did."

Then the boy laughed softly, he leaned forward and Losielette felt the clock he was wearing press against her back.

"Already got a death warrant," he said casually. "You'll have to try better than that. Or maybe do you need some more persuading...?" He then held the blade up to the inky sky and examined it in the illumination of the moonlight. As he tilted it side to side lines of silver light traveled over it and the dark dots of blood glistened crimson in the glow. "After all, there wasn't much damage done last time," He then repositioned the knife at Losielettes neck. "But this is really up to to you guys."

The hooded mans eyes narrowed into thin lines and he turned to the men behind him. His eyes lingered with each of the half dozen men behind him and they all nodded collectively, as if a mute message of understanding had passed through them. Finally, he turned back to the boy and his face twisted into a sneer of happiness. Cruelty warned in his eyes, and somehow this ominous expression scared Losielette more than the knife targeting her neck.

"Kill her then. It won't stop us." The man announced.

Losielette gasped. They didn't care for her life at all; the men were going to let her be killed. All trace of the boys cockiness vanished suddenly and Losielette felt pressure of the blade weaken against her neck. The boys tight hold of her loosened, as his confidence crumbled.

    "You're bluffing." he said weakly.

The man shook his head and bore his teeth into a sinister smile.

    "Afraid not."

The boy hesitated and gnashed his teeth. He glanced at Losielette quickly, then back to the men.

"No, you're bluffing," he concluded. "There's no way you could just let her die, that completely goes against the rules. Think about it. It wouldn't be worth catching me if consequences of her dying are too drastic. So you're bluffing, even you wouldn't go against the rules."

The man shook his patronizingly and tutted, as if listening to the nonsense of a small child. "No. We've decided we're going to do everything we can do to catch you, no matter what the consequences,"

The man paced forward and his group followed. "Now you have until we reach you to decide what you're going to do. You can either let the girl go and come quietly, or you can kill her and make things more difficult. But I don't think you have the nerve for that second one..."

The men drew forward further, closing in on them. The leader was lavishing in the boys distress, he was like a cat toying with a mouse, keeping his pace slow and deadly. Losielette could feel the boys hand tremble with the blade at her neck in hesitation. All of the time the knife would draw closer and closer but it would always halt before the final blow. Her eyes looked upward and caught the gaze of the boy. A power of emotion seemed to pass through her glittering emerald irises. The boys eyes glared back down into her own and were widened, juggling distress and uncertainty...

"Get him." the hooded leader ordered.

The boy gnashed his teeth and clenched his eyes tightly shut.

"I'm sorry for this!" he cried.

Suddenly he grasped hold of Losielette tighter as if hugging her goodbye. She knew his hesitation was gone, no longer did his grip falter like he was about to let her go. Losielette closed her eyes softly. Regrets trickled down her face in the form of tears as she prepared for the final blow.

I wish I had just married Charles. She thought. Then none of this would have happened. Mum, Dad I'm sorry...

The boy reared the knife for attack...

Heaven. If it's real I have nothing to be scared of, dying might be painless...

That thought burned inside her as hope. She wasn't sure what she believed in life after death but after all her trauma, the thought of paradise after death was soothing.

Next time I open my eyes I'll be in a completely different place, a happy place...

    Slowly, she opened her eyes.

This time when they were opened no men stood around her and the dreary alleyways of Edinburgh were gone.

It was beautiful. The whole world around her was a glistening nebula of blue and she was soaring through it carelessly, with the wind blasting into her face and her red hair rippling behind her. She felt so light and happy, it was like all the gravity had been turned of and all of her worries that had drifted of into the vast universe above. Suddenly she became aware of a warm presence nestled against her. She looked upward. The boy was still holding her.

    Chapter 3

    A while later, Time: Unknown.

The thunder roared as an angry deity and a ferocious crack of lightning exploded through the sound of the howling wind. As Losielettes eyes fluttered open dewdrops of water trickled between her eyelashes and she was met by the sight of a vast grey sky stretching above her. Rain was blasting from the sky above and pounding into her skin like bullets of waters, its force was enough to return her memories to in a blurry haze She could remember the world zooming past her in a rainbow of shimmering blue though now the warm touch of the boy was gone and she lay cold and solitary on the soft surface beneath her. She wondered if it had all been a dream, a horrible nightmare conjured by her subconsiousness from the fear of marrying Charles. Groggily she ran her fingers of her neck and found an indent of a scratch tearing across her skin. As her fingers traced the mark the pain that resonated from the touch was as real as the sensation of the wind blasting into her skin all around her. It was with a pang of dismay that she realized it had not just been a dream. It was realities nightmare.

As she pressed her hand into the ground she was surprised to find soft grains of sand trickled between her fingers.

    A beach?

Hastily she sat up and sure enough she was met with the sight of a choppy gray sea stretching before her. The silver waves danced in ferocious spikes of water that collided into each other like daggers of water caught in battle and she gasped a little. Never before had she seen the ocean, she was a city girl born and bread and there was no seaside to Edinburgh. In other circumstances she might have been enchanted by the ocean though now it only caused her heart to sink. If she was seeing the ocean it meant she was no longer home.

"Hello?" she cried franticly only for her voice to be carried by the wind. She jumped to her feet and glanced around hysterically, the rain blew so powerfully into her eyes that she could barely keep them open. Suddenly the wind roared loudly as it reared for attack and a gust blasted into her so powerfully her stance wavered. In support she lashed out and grasped onto a cliff next to her but the rocks crumbled between her fingers and she fell into the jagged rock pools below her. Sharp pain tore through her legs as the rocks scratched her skin and a horrendous ripping sound tore over the wind. The sound crushed her spirit; she knew it was the demise of her dress. After a moment of shock she looked downward and saw the extent of the damage. The once majestic white material had been reduced to a torn, dirt emblazoned rag as the straggling threads dipped into the rock pools below. The tear stretched right up the side of her leg and she could clearly see her leg beneath, her skin was lined with tens of bright red scratches tearing across her. Somehow the sight of the ruined dress hurt her more than the physical cuts searing on her knees. The dress felt like the only reminder of the normal life she used to lead before she'd been snagged in this series of events, now it was as torn mess just like herself.

"Anyone?" she cried louder this time, only to be answered by her own echoing voice in the empty cliff tops.

    Am I really alone here...?

Suddenly the wind died down and she was able to open her eyes enough to be gifted with sight. In the distance she could just make out a slender figure slowly demising into a mass of white fog.

Losielette broke into a run. She staggered blindly over the rock pools as fast as she could until she came onto the flat surface of the sand beneath her feet. Her feet trudged through the sinking sand; one shoe vanished beneath the depths but she didn't allow that to stop her. Unshod she ran on and on until the figure grew larger and was no longer a speck onto the distance.

    "Wait!" she breathed.

The figure didn't hear her. He kept walking into the distance, suddenly growing farther away as she slowed from exhaustion.

    "WAIT!" Losielette screamed.

This time her voice silenced the roar of the wind.

The figure turned and a flurry of black hair flew round his face, round his neck a golden glint glistened.

    "Wait..." Losielette whispered.

The boy didn't rush to her aid but stood frozen in the white mist. Losielette staggered onward until her legs refused to move no more, upon reaching the boy she collapsed as a limp mass against his chest. She fell into his arms and he knelt downward to lay her onto the ground. Losielettes emerald iris travelled up him through half closed lids and she exhaled with relief. It was all so nostalgically familiar the sight of him, from the golden clock hanging round his neck to loose black curls of hair cascading his face. She'd never forget the sight of the boy from earlier.

"What happened...?" Losielette breathed suddenly, her thirst for answers overpowering her exhausted body.

The boy's brow slanted into a stern frown covering his icy blue eyes as she spoke. He seemed irritated by her presence.

"You weren't supposed to catch up with Me." he muttered.

"You didn't answer..." Losielette said weakly.

"Why do I need to give you answer? I saved you from that man. You can repay me by not asking any questions."

Losielette didn't have the strength to argue with him but the sensation of anger that flared in her stomach was far stronger than any words how dare he not offer her an explanation after what he'd done?

"You cut me..." Losielette uttered, pointing a trembling finger toward her neck.

The boy's eyes grew wide with what appeared to be a flash of remorse but he contained himself quickly. He then tore away from the mark on her neck and was suddenly void from emotion.

"I didn't have any intentions of killing you at any point."

Losielette pressed her hands into the ground and retained full posture. Her hair was caught in the wind breeze as she stood and rippled like a fiery mass of red flame above her.

"You never had any intention of killing me?" she whispered. "It didn't seem like that. You grasped hold of me tighter... You even said you were sorry! What is up with you? Who are you?"

The boy edged in closer to Losielette and grasped her face in his hands. His icy eyes stared into her own and Losielette suddenly felt scared. His eyes were so cold and emotionless, the only kind emptiness that could be achieved through intense suffering.

"You really want to know about me?" he said.

    Losielette nodded instantly.

Suddenly he laughed softly, though it was a quiet humorless sound that did not lighten the mood. He turned to stare out into the ocean then turned back to Losielette.

"But once you know life is never the same. If you know your life becomes hell, just because you know. I realize I've already wrecked your life but do you really want to sink deeper now? It's your choice"

Losielette frowned and gnashed her teeth.

"Stop talking in riddles! I'm so confused, you slash me over the neck and I wake up somewhere miles from Edinburgh! Now, you have the nerve to make the situation more difficult that it should be! Just get to the point will you?!"

The boy leaned so close Losielette could feel his warm breathing against her face. Losielette kept her eyes locked onto the boys gaze firmly; somehow she felt if she broke away she'd never receive an answer.

"Fine" The boy said. "As to who I am I don't know, I've used so many aliases I've long forgotten, I'm nothing but a shadow now. As to what's my deal... well that's were it gets compicatiated..."

"Get on with it." Losielette growled.

The boy then rolled his eyes and heaved a mock sigh.

"I'm a time traveler." he said.

The wind howled and whispers Losielettes mass of hair over her face in a form of rippling red strands. Her face was still frozen in a snarl over her face but slowly it sank. She was rooted to the spot.

The boy then smiled and removed the black hair from over his face.

"I guess you were conscious at the moment when we were flying and everything was blue? That's time travel. I had no other alternative to escape from that situation," The boy then leaned in and kissed Losielettes cheek. When he tore away his eyebrows were slanted with empathy and his eyes seemed sorrowful. "I'm sorry. Those men were after me because I drastically changed the future before, by doing this to you I guess I might've done that again, I can't return you," He then slid his hands down from Losielettes face and paced backward a few steps. "Welcome to 2010 dear."

He then turned and began to walk away. It was only as his figure had become completely engulfed by the white fog that Losielette found the power of speech.

    "W-what?" she stammered.
