• I woke up to the sunlight and Daisuke asleep at my bedside. "Daisuke?" I drawled. He blinked his emrald green eyes and looked up at me. A grin spread across his face as he saw me sitting up. "Miyuki! You're awake!" he exclaimed. "How long have I been asleep?" I asked. "Three days. What kind of spell was that?" he asked. "A powerful one. It was meant to be cast by two dark mages, but there was no way we could find one." I sighed. "......what about me?" he asked. I patted him on the head "Even if I was to turn you into a dark mage, the procedure would take over three days to finish." I said flatly. "Seriously?" he asked, amazed. "No, I just lied to you, it takes about fifteen minutes." I said honestly. "Why must you lie to me?" he sighed. "Only when it's fun." I said, patting him again. "How do you feel?" he asked, sitting up. "I'm fine." I lied. He looked at me "Liar." he stated and put his forehead against mine. He removed his head "You're burning up!" he said. "N-No, I'm not!" I said. "Miyuki, why are you fighting this? I know you're sick, there's no 'I'm not' in this, you are." he said. I blushed, embarresed. "It's a good thing we're close to the nurse's office. I'll be right back." he said, standing up. I nodded, lying back against the pillows. He walked of the room. I settled back, feeling the full affects of the fever take over. I felt my body grow warm and the weakness sweep over me. It felt like forever until Daisuke came back. "Damn your hot." he said. I looked at him "I meant you have a really bad fever, although you look hot even though your really sick." he admitted. "I-di-ot." I said, taking soft breaths between syllables. "I may be an idiot, but I'm the only one here who can help you, the nurse is busy and the teachers and students are all in classes." he said. "What..about..you?" I asked, taking the soft clear breaths. "Believe it or not, they let me stay here to take care of you." he said, winking. I looked at him "Daisuke..I found out..when all the kids..will be targeted." I told him in breaths. "When?" he asked. "The first one is not..for a while...But, Daisuke-" I tried to say, but sat up in a fit of coughs. "Lie back down, you need rest." he said. Reluctantly, I nodded. He laid me back against the pillows. He laid a cold wet towel on my forehead, it felt nice. "Damn, if I'd known you were gunna get this sick I wouldn't have let you do that spell." he mumbled. "I still would've done it. It would've been harder without your help, but I would've done it." I said. " I know you would have. You're so stubborn that way." he said. I smiled at him "I like to think of it as determination." I said. "Of course you would." he sighed, but smiled. "Sorry I caused you so much trouble." I said. He shrugged "It's not like I really had a purpose to go to class anymore. You already knew who was going to be targeted next.....and you weren't going to go so....." his voice trailed off. Just than there was a knock on the door. "I'll get it, it must be Uzura with your other friends." he said, and opened the door. He was right, Uzura, Momoko, Miyako, Kaoru, and Rin all came in, looking surprised as they saw me awake. They rushed over to my bed. "Are you okay?" Kaoru asked. "Are you sure you should be up?" Rin asked. I smiled a bit "Hey, give her some room, she has a fever, you know." Daisuke said, pulling Momoko, who was the closest, back. They all nodded, bu just than, the bell rang "Aw!" Miyako said. "We'll be back as soon as school is over, promise!" Uzura said, the other girls agreeing, and they ran off to class. "What time is it?" I asked. "Lunch period just ended." he said. I nodded "Daisuke, I need to tell you something." I said. "What?" he asked. "When I used the spell, I found out more that just when each kid was going to be targeted." I said. "What did you find out?" he asked. I looked up at him, and said seriously " Something about Mr.Tanaka, I...I think he's the one targeting all the kids."
