- Long ago twin sisters were born to a family of witches and users of the arcane. The first was gifted with wavy blonde hair, sky blue eyes and the ability to make anyone fall in love with her. The second was gifted with straight black hair and emerald green eyes, her ability was to weave spells through song. Their mother died giving birth to them but their grandmother took them in and gave them each a pendant of a bird. The blonde beauty was given one of a white dove and the black haired child was given one of a raven. As they grew the raven was overshadowed by her sister, the dove's popularity and the beauty that was longed for by all at that time but she didn't mind. Her shyness called her to the forest where she could sing without being heard so no one was affected by her spells. The days passed and the sisters grew more and more radiant. However; the dove was jealous of the raven's ability to escape from everyone around her and sink into the shadows unnoticed while she herself was constantly bombarded by groups of people simply admiring her beauty. The dove was angry at the fact that she could never rest for everyone wanted her to help them solve their petty problems while no one asked her sister for help. Years passed like this, the dove being angry at the raven and the raven being oblivious to her sister's hate. The sisters became ever popular and were called to the king's castle many times to be entertainment for him and the royal family. The only one missing was the prince who had been sent away when the twins had been born for a dark prophecy had been uttered by their mother. The king and queen had feared that the prophecy meant their child would die so they sent him to another kingdom to be reared by the king's brother who had no child of his own. When both girls had reached the age of twenty the news spread that the prince was returning and all rejoiced. The sisters too were excited and for a while the dove forgot her hate until she gazed upon the look that had formed on the raven's face when she saw the prince. The raven for the first time felt a longing for companionship. She had instantly fallen in love with the prince. The dove saw this as her chance to purposefully use her gift to harm her sister. The twins were once again called to the castle to entertain the royal family, the dove took her chance and used her power on the prince who fell madly in love with her. A month passed and every attempt the raven made to get close to the prince was ruined, only after that month did she learn that her own sister was to be wed to him. Her heart hurt but she was happy for her sister and celebrated with the kingdom. The night of the wedding though, the plot was quickly revealed to the innocent raven. The dove called the raven to her royal quarters where she was to lie with the prince for the first time. When the raven arrived and her sister invited her in she saw on the floor the crippled form of the blood covered prince. She was shocked but before she could scream her sister dumped a bucket of blood she had stolen from the local butcher's onto her. The dove then screamed loudly and many in the castle came running. When they arrived at the open door the dove was pointing at the now bloodied raven with a look of horror on her face. "She killed him! "she screamed again and the raven tried to say no but was in shock. She was quickly dragged off to the dungeons while the dove "grieved". Two days passed and the raven cried many times, realizing what her sister had done. On the third morning she was taken out into the daylight and was met with the entire village who jeered and threw rocks and anything the could at her as she was pulled through the crowd to the middle that housed a large pile of wood and a stake. She was tied to it and she cried again. As they lit the fire she sang. Within her song she said "as we are two we shall share the same fate and any who possess the raven or the dove shall become inhuman and seek to destroy the other while living forever until they do". When her song finished with a scream both the raven and dove pendants that the sisters always wore were glowing and the blue eyed sister burst into flames as the fire licked at the green eyed sister's flesh. Both twins burned but once the fires had ceased the only things pulled from the ashes were the pendants. The still white one of the dove and the black one of the raven. Even now the pendants circulate through the world searching for hosts so that they may destroy each other once more. How do I know this? Well lets just say a little birdy told me...
