CHAPTER 159 - A HUNTER'S WORST FATE
Akatsuki...how does he live on his own, knowing he battles mankind's worst predators on a daily basis?
Moaning, I smothered my face in my pillow and giggled a little. It felt amazing; Kai was so good at it. I was feeling euphoric and dominant again. I was in heaven once more as the pressure increased.
Kai was the best massager on the planet.
I buried my face in the pillow again and giggled loudly, "Kai, it tickles!"
I was lying on the bed on my stomach with no shirt or bra on, allowing myself to sink into the plush bed. Kai was sitting above me, putting his thumbs to work on every muscle in my back. He knew just where to push and just how hard to do it. I didn't know if it was supposed to tickle or not, but it did. Every now and then, he would lean over to kiss one of my shoulders and then one of my ears.
"I think I might pay Akatsuki a visit today," I murmured with my face still halfway in the pillow.
Kai ceased his massaging and laid himself on top of me, resting his chin on my left shoulder, "And why is that?"
I shrugged, "Because I worry about him," and I sighed. "I haven't seen him since we went back to my house; I hardly ever see him."
"It's a good time to visit him because the full moon was last night," Kai kissed my shoulder. "You should bring him a treat."
"Like a dog treat?" I looked at Kai from over my shoulder and frowned.
"Of course not," Kai frowned back at me. "Bake him a cake or something." He mumbled as he moved to kiss the middle of my back.
"Good idea," I smiled and gently pushed Kai off of me, sitting up. "Help me make it."
~*~*~*~*~*~
The cake took forever in a day to make, but it was finally finished. It was marble, beautiful and mouthwatering. I didn't know what to write on it with the frosting, so I opted to try to make borders and flowers, of which I completely failed, until Kai came in to save the day. He got rather intimate with the frosting--not that I minded--by constantly smearing it on my face and neck and opting to lick it off. It was all a setup.
"Okay, I'm leaving," I beckoned Kai after I loaded the cake onto the passenger seat.
Kai wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed me tenderly, "Drive safe. And text me once you're in the building."
I nodded and kissed him back, "Will do. I love you."
"I love you more," he kissed my cheek and released me. "Be safe."
I wanted to argue with him over who loved who more, but we both loved each other on the same level. I got into my car, left the lot and continued down the long stretch of gravel road. I sighed lovingly, mesmerized by Kai. Our relationship was perfect; we hadn't made love since we first did almost two days ago, but it was fine. Kai never pressured me to do it again and I haven't pressured him...yet. It seemed as though everything we would do together in the future wouldn't be considered so innocent anymore.
After a long forty-five minutes of driving, I finally arrived at Akatsuki's apartment. I exited my car, grabbed the cake, locked my car about ten times--though it was pointless with the top down--, and hiked up the stairs. With the cake on one arm, I knocked on his door but was stopped short; his door wasn't shut all the way. I entered cautiously in case a burglar or somebody had entered his house while he was absent.
"Akatsuki?" I called out, setting the cake on the counter. "Your door was open; is everything okay?"
There was no response; the apartment was dead silent. I peeked down the hallway and noticed Akatsuki's bedroom door was open about halfway and there was a box fan running. How stupid of me; I should have known he would be exhausted, even the day after a full moon. I sighed and cursed myself in my head.
Oh, I needed to text Kai to tell him I was there safely. I pulled out my cell phone and started a new text but as soon as I was ready to hit the "send" button, I blacked out.
~*~*~*~*~*~
My neck...it was throbbing again. The wounds from when Kai suffocated me were starting to act up again. But the pain was more of a sharp, piercing pain on the left side of my neck. I could hear heavy drinking and there was a cold arm wrapped around my waist and another hand cupping the other side of my neck. And I was being pressed against a cold body; oh no, there was a Vampire in Akatsuki's apartment, not a burglar.
I finally managed to crack my eyes open which, in return, made my head start throbbing. I looked around a little--still a little out of it--and noticed I was still in Akatsuki's apartment, lying on his couch. I groaned at the pain in my neck and gripped onto the hair of the attacket. I was confused; the hair was silver that blended into black. That was Akatsuki's hair...but what was he doing to me?
It was when I heard another gulp that my heart stopped; Akatsuki was a Vampire?
"Akatsuki," I gasped, gripping his hair tighter. "Akatsuki!" I cried out, pushing him off.
My eyes widened in shock; his eyes were a piercing, starving red. His skin was pale and freezing cold and my blood was dripping off of his mouth. I shouted and jumped off of the couch, cupping my hand over my wound. I leaned against the wall, dizzy from blood loss and getting up too fast. I glanced next to me at a crater the size of my head in the wall; was that how I blacked out?
"Akatsuki, what happened to you?!" I shouted.
"Get away!" he beckoned, inching towards me.
"You're a Vampire!"
"Leave!"
"You're--!"
Before I could finish my sentence, Akatsuki ran into me again, and threw me onto the ground, causing me to hit my head on a leg of his desk. I groaned as the pain in my head worsened but the pain soon transferred to the right side of my neck after Akatsuki bit into it. I started flailing around, telling Akatsuki to get off and let me go. How long had he been a Vampire?!
"Akatsuki, get off!" I cried, still kicking.
Akatsuki released his fangs from my neck, but he gripped onto the front of my shirt and tossed me aside. My back slammed into his bookself, knocking a few large books from the top shelf which, luckily, missed my head but hit my legs at the right velocity. I was confused, in pain, in shock, and curious; how and when did Akatsuki ever become a Vampire?
Akatsuki lunged at me again with his still-red eyes. I covered one of my bite wounds and he ended up biting into that hand. I could feel a fracture and I knew that one bone in my hand had to have been fractured by the force of his bite. I started crying, in denial about Akatsuki and afraid to lose my life. Kai didn't recieve my text; that meant he would come searching for me, right? But I would be dead by the time he would arrive.
I ripped off the bullet necklace Akatsuki gave to me and, with my adrenaline strength, I burrowed it into one side of his neck. His teeth came out of my hand and he shouted, pulling away. I pulled the bullet out of his neck and stood up. I started backing away, grabbing my car keys as well. Before Akatsuki could gather himself and attack me again, I dashed out of his apartment, into my car, and quickly left Sapporo, topping ninety miles per hour on the road back home.
"Akatsuki..." I groaned in pain as tears started to stream down my face.
As my vision started blurring, I gently stepped on the brakes. But as soon as my car slowed down to fifty miles per hour, my body shut down on me and I lost control of my car. I didn't even know what happened; I could only remember coming to again, upside-down in a ditch. I managed to undo my seat belt so I would drop head-first onto the ground, but I gave up after that. I finally slipped into unconsciousness with the image of Akatsuki's fangs branded into my mind.
.:{{Kai's Perspective}}:.
I sighed irritably as I hung up my phone; still no answer from Arisa. She never messaged me as she promised and I was beginning to worry. There were numerous events that could have happened to her; I had no choice but to go out and search for her. I donned a shirt on, grabbed my car keys and left the house. It was no more than thirty minutes down the road that I spotted a car flipped over in a ditch. My mind ceased for a moment after I noticed the paint on the car matched that of Arisa's. And the scent of her blood was significant.
"Oh no..." I mumbled, parking the car and exiting.
I dashed into the ditch and winced as the scent of her blood increased. I took a moment to pull myself together; the contract made me more sensitive to the scent of her blood. I peeked under her car and gasped; she was completely unconscious, bleeding significantly from her neck. I attempted to pull her out gently, but the steering wheel was in the way. She had unbuckled her seatbelt, but she didn't come out all the way. I ripped the steering wheel off frantically and immediately pulled her out of the debris. I reached back in to grab her cell phone--which had seven missed calls from me--and her bullet that was drenched in blood.
"Arisa, are you conscious?" I asked her, hoping she would respond in some way.
There was no response from her, but she was still breathing. I examined the wounds on her neck; they appeared to be bite wounds, not wounds from the accident. And her hand possessed bite marks too; a Vampire attacked her? I held the bullet up to my nose and inhaled; Akatsuki's blood. But it didn't smell quite the same; it had the scent of a Vampire on it.
"What happened...?" I mumbled rhetorically. There was something going on with Akatsuki but Arisa wasn't conscious to tell me.
I quickly berthed her into my car and took off back home. Arisa's blood loss was significant; she needed her wounds covered quickly. There were questions ricocheting through my head that were all left unanswered for the time being. Every second that passed made me want to ingest Arisa's blood further, but I held back. My precious Arisa was bleeding terribly and I had no answers as to why. If Akatsuki truly was a Vampire, Arisa would surely suffer.
