I sat, and watched
As the others went outside,
Racing to see who was the fastest.
They were smiling,
Giggling like best friends should.
I don't know why,
But I hated them for that.

I sat in the back of the classroom
On the first day of school,
In the shadows.
The teacher was taking roll.
She called my name.
I answered.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I sat on the rail,
And watched people walk by.
I watched them with no expression.
I had long forgotten how to express emotion.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I hated them all.
Every one of them.
Who knew the breath of feelings.
I wanted them all to die.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
It was the first day of school again.
The day that most people dreaded.
For me,
It was life.
Nothing more than just a place to go.
But then came that day....
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I had never thought
About how I looked
'It is a silly thing
To think about such trivial thoughts,'
Is what I always told myself.
Until he came and said,
'You're pretty,
I like you.'
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I just looked at him,
With a blank expression,
And said,
'Good luck with that.'
And left.
But he just grinned,
And replied,
'Oh you'll see...'
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The next day I saw him
Flirting with girls that were nothing like me.
Prettier.
Smarter.
Who knew feelings.
I then believed,
It was all a lie.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
When I turned
And walked away,
I felt something inside me
I have never encountered.
Something at the pit of my stomach.
It made me feel...
Sad.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
As I stepped outside,
I felt something in my eyes.
I slowly lifted my hand to my face.
It came out wet.
I then realized,
I was crying.

- That's good Rik, sad, but good. I was put into home school when I reached third grade, and never had friends for like... nine or so years. ( Big family dilema, ) Still am healing, seems like there is pain no matter where you go.
