The ally was pitch black; thick sheets of fog that seemed to come out of nowhere blocked the moon. The air was thick and heavy with moisture. Making you feel as if you where chocking. Debris cluttered the ally way, with the occasional hobo here and there. Sweet beaded from Jazlin’s neck and forehead. Her cloths where drenched in sweat and moisture from the air combined. She breath heavily, from exhaustion and fatigued. She staggered forward, limping on her left leg. (Just keep walking. I have to keep going or I’m gone.) She thought with a dazed buzz in her head that alternated between a dull buzz and an electric current that stung like a taser. She flinched as her bare food went down and hit a broken bear bottle. She paid little mind to it though. With all the cuts and gashes on her body rate now, glass logged in her foot was the least of her worries. She heard footstep behind her and cursed mentally. He was following her; of course he was following her. He was the one who kept up the constant threats going inside her head. (Stop Running!) Or one of the latest, (Your going to pass out if you keep walking!) Again and again he echoed this inside her head. And again and again she ignored him. She would rather die than listen to him. And if she kept this up she would. A gust of wind suddenly appeared and wiped a crossed her face, her hair bellowed in the wind, making it look like a thousand ravens feathers, long and dark. She shivered from the chill. The voice found an opening. (If you listen to me and stop you wouldn’t be cold any more. You wouldn’t feel hot or cold ever again. NOW STOP AND TURN TO FACE ME.) He said the last sentence in a commanding and seductive tone. She could not refuse, it sounded like satin but it also had a sharp edge to it. She stopped running then slowly turned and there he was. His hair was wind blown, like a sea if indigo. And his eyes blazed a light dull green with red blotched in his pupils. Jazlin knew all to well what this meant. He was hungry. He needed to feed. He walked toward her, a wicked smile spread a crossed his face. He knew he had way on and she knew she had lost. He was inches away from her now, blood dripped from her wound on her arms and neck. She had escaped him twice that night. But she would not get so lucky the third time. He lifted his hand to brush her hair back, exposing her neck. Hid gaze instantly fell on the two bite marks on her neck. Blood beaded from them, running down her neck to fall on to her black sleeveless tank top. He bent his head down to her neck and licked the blood away, shuddering at the taste. He felt her shaking as a memory forced its self up through the cracks of his mind control. He pressed harder on her mind, forcing the memory to fade away. She stopped her struggling then, letting the mind control take the pain and fear from her body, replacing them with ease and a feeling of comfort. And once again he leaned His head down to her neck. She moaned slightly as his fangs pierced her neck. He wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer. She felt as if she where floating, surrounded by the sea. Her body was light and weightless, floating and moving with every shift of the breeze. After a while she became light headed and confused, forgetting whom, when and where she was. And finally he pulled back, his lips glistening with blood, her blood. Her vision twists and her body went limp in his arms. “I’m sorry.” He whispered his voice pained. He lifts his wrist up to his mouth, keeping her balanced with his other arm. He bit into his wrist, sucking up the blood but not swallowing. After a moment he pulls it away, pulling Jazlin up so her face was only an inch apart form his. Their lips met, his cold and strong, and hers soft and warm. Blood rushed into her mouth, gagging her at first. She tried to spit it out but he tipped her head back so she had to swallow. When she had swallowed enough Demeter drew back, still cradling her in his arms. As he felt her heart start to race and her body start to writhe he held her closer, humming a poem that he had quoted when he first met her,
Black, black, black
is the color of my true love's hair
Her lips are like a rose so fair
And the prettiest face and the neatest hands.
I love the grass where on she stands
She with the wondrous hair.
Black, black, black
is the color of my true love's hair
Alone, my life would be so bare.
I would sigh, I would weep,
I would never fall asleep
My love is 'way beyond compare
He with the wondrous hair.
Black, black, black
is the color of my true love's hair."
And as he finished the poem Jazlin’s breath stopped. Her heart heaved one final and solemn ‘thump’ and then went silent. Her eyes fluttered open, revealing electric green eyes that cold stop one’s breath and movement with one glance. “You…” She said, her memory fuzzy and weak. “Your finally awake?” Demeter sighed, his voice carrying a note of worry. “You a**.” She muttered, staggering to her feet. “Leave me alone.” She hissed as she tried to walk, swaying so mush that he hade to catch her before she fell into some trashcans. “No way. You’re my responsibility now.” He said, a smile spreading a crossed his face. “Like hell.” She grumbled as she leaned on his for support. Behind them a blood red sunset was fading, the sun sinking down for the moon to take its place.
