"Stand up." the captain ordered us.
Most of us stood up like rockets but Shane said, "No."
"What did you just say?" the captain asked.
"You heard me, i said no." Shane replied.
The captain pulled out his pistol, "I'm gonna ask you one more time. Stand up."
"No." i saw it sooner than Shane.
My body lunged forward just as the bullet was released. It drilled its way into my shoulder, and the force shoved me back a few feet.
Then i heard the captain say, "How sweet, she saved you by risking her own life. Too sad you won't be able to enjoy it." i heard several more gun shots, and Shane cry out.
The guards chuckled their way down the hallway.
I crawled over to Shane and put his head in my lap. "Shane?" i whispered.
"Mer?" Shane asked using my nickname from my old life.
"Oh my gosh Shane!" i cried out.
"Mer, can you bury me on the 'To Tall To Climb' mountain?" he asked
"You're not going to die!" i told him.
"'Fraid i am, and you can't stop it," he chuckled. "Will you?"
"I promise." the words caught in my throat.
"Thanks. Mer, i love you." he panted.
"Same to you." i whispered.
Then Shane's breathing slowed. My lips came down on his to do CPR, but then it quickly changed into a kiss. Shane pressed his lips on mine then the pressure was gone. i pulled away.
"Shane?" i asked. "Shane?!" i cried. I did CPR again, but it wouldn't work. I felt a stinging pain in my shoulder, the one that wasn't shot, and i knew that Shane was watching me desperately work over his lifeless body to bring him back to me.
"Shane, we can as a team and we leave as one!!!" i screamed at him.
About ten minutes later my uncle's voice rang out. "We need the body."
"I promised i'd bury him somewhere." i whispered knowing that he knew i was weak.
"Where is that place?"
"I'm not telling." i said.
"Then we'll keep him until you will." the door was opened, and my gun shot wound made me too weak to hold on.
Cody came and held me, but i jerked away. "You could have saved him!!!!!!" i screamed at him.
"How?" Cody asked.
"Told his mind not to let go something!! Why didn't you!??!?!?!" i demanded an answer.
"Would that have been fair to him?"
"Shut up!! You're just like dad! You take sad events and make me feel guilty for them!!!! What did i do wrong? Why do you hate me so much?" i weakened.
"I don't."
"He loved me, but he wasn't a match for me." i whimpered.
"I know." Cody whispered holding me to his chest, and humming softly in my hair.
Well that's it for now here's the people that were mentioned:
