    Chapter 11 Top Notch Surprise

    Ah Hero here again, life is grand with all its twists and turns. I have had no idea as to what was happening to me, I’ve found out that my closest friends aren’t really normal...

    Airisu is the legendary Kei whom stopped many situations the authorities could not bring to a halt, In turn putting a bounty on her head instead of being rewarded.

    Acqua, her presence felt like that of a goddess of water, I’ve always questioned why she wore blue...

    And Yume, well she is a mystery in her own right... I’m just glad I was able to rescue her from that a** Seirgei.

    Things were beginning to shape into quite the adventure, if I was ready or not, it didn’t matter.

    “Auugg!” Hero cried out in pain sitting up in his bed, the wounds on his left arm and chest wrapped up in bandages.

    Diana kicked open his door,

    “What’s wrong squirt? What’d you do now?” She hollered while barging in.

    “I’m ok Di, it was just a throb of pain,” He winced from her holler, taking a hold of his left arm.

    “Alright I just came up here to wake you to get ready for school. You think you’re up for it?” She asked while leaning against the door frame, taunting him with a piece of strawberry pocky in her mouth.

    “I can manage sis, I’ll see you down stairs,” he scooted her out so he could get dressed.

    “Well you better hurry or you are going to be late” She chuckled and skipped down the stairs in all her glory.

    “OH DI! Put on some clothes for Pete sake, I don’t want to see you in your underwear.” He huffed closing the door.

    “Hurry, hurry, ow, ow, ow!” Gasped Hero as he dashed towards the school gate, in turn was closing. He clutched his side praying for the pain to cease.

    ‘I’m going to make it!’ He thought. He looked down to put a bit more power into his run then looked up to see Wolf holding open the gate.

    “C’mon slow poke this thing is supposed to be shut already, I can’t hold it for long,” Wolf gritted his teeth.

    “Almost there! Alright, tuck and roll... NOW,” Shouted Hero as he dove, stretching his good arm in front of him. He rolled a bit with the gate slamming in behind him.
    “’Bout time, you’re slower than when the year began” Wolf prodded a tease at him.

    Hero pointed at the obvious, which were clearly the bandages wrapped around his tender healing torso.

    “That shouldn’t slow you down” Wolf puffed.

    ‘Easy for you to say, you didn’t almost get killed on the weekend.’ Hero thought.

    The Class room door slid open, Hero with his head hung low entered.

    “SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY,” The entire class shouted.

    “What the hell is going on?” stammered Hero as he looked about. The ceiling was covered in streamers, the desks all decorated and a Strawberry cake sat on Ms. Hikari’s desk.

    “The whole class heard about your grave incident, we’re just glad you are joining us today,” She grinned.

    “Th-the whole class,” he stuttered.

    “Yes we heard that you saved Yume from getting hit by a car, but in doing so, seriously injuring yourself,” she winked at him.

    ‘Does she know what really went down?’ a thought pestered him.

    “So to reward you and your heroic deed we’ve decided to throw a party, plus your birthday is today as well. It’s killing two birds with one stone in a way.” She concluded her explanation.

    “I see...” Hero nodded his head slightly.

    “Unfortunately Seirgei wasn’t able to join us this morning due to a business trip on another continent, but he sends his regards to you Hero with that gift on your desk” She pointed out to him.

    He curiously walked over to his seating place and checked around the desk for any rigs or traps that might be set for him.

    ‘Are you that paranoid Hero?’ Acqua thought while looking at him checking the area.

    ‘He wouldn’t cause a disruption in a public area would he?’ Hero thought while he loomed over the package.

    “Just open it already! I mean the damn suspense is killing me,” Wolf prodded losing his patience.

    Hero looked at Airisu, Acqua finally Ms. Hikari. Each one of them nodded giving a go ahead. Still with hesitance he took hold of the box inhaled a deep breath then tore the gift paper to shreds opening the box and taking cover under the desk, his hands over his head, just in case something popped out. The class chuckled.

    “Hero, Hun there’s a card here for you and what’s here looks really nice. Oh and it’s safe to come out.” She kneeled down to under the desk and handed him the card.

    It read:

    “To a worthy rival and adversary,

    Here is something for you on your birthday; it won’t tear as easily as your last outfit did during our quarrel in the wear house. It’s made from the best material in the world and quite heat resistant. You have gained my respect in both as a classmate and a fighter. However I will not hesitate to kill you nor will my men, There will be another day when your skills will be challenged again. I will do anything to have you cease to exist; it is my mission and one of my company’s goals.

    So until then best wishes,

    Hero got out from under the desk and passed the card back to Acqua. He looked into the box, inside was a new battle uniform along with a few pieces of shiny polished armour.

    “Wow, the material on this is... just wow.” He held it in awe.

    ‘The b*****d, he didn’t hold back on expensing on the fine grade material to make this. And yet still threatens to kill me.’ Hero set it back into the box.

    “Why don’t you try it on? It looks like it will fit you just fine” Ms. Hikari suggested

    “Yeah, I want a picture before you go making it dirty!” Acqua stated pulling out a digital camera out of her blue bag.

    Hero once again took the outfit out of the box and held it out for a picture or two... ok twenty-six actually. After Acqua took hers students lined up to take snapshots from their mobiles and cameras as well.

    ‘Great...’ He thought ‘just what I need, everyone knowing what I’m going to look like when I’m fighting evil.’

    “That’s enough class let Hero go and change then more pictures will be taken, and we’ll dig into this wonderful cake” Ms. Hikari announced to the class. They backed off of him and let him out. He dashed off to the washroom with the box and switched clothes. Exiting the washroom it seemed to be hotter than normal... ten extra degrees to be precise. He ran to the classroom to open the door just to see Acqua pass out from heat exhaustion.

    “Alright something’s up” He stated out aloud, “My class is passed out, and my cake is melted, what the hell is going on?”

    “No need to flair up dude, just come with me and all will be easy, and things won’t heat up,”
    Hero turned to see a figure cloaked in black.

    ‘Awe great...,’ Thought Hero as he set into his defensive stance.
