“Oh to be a kindred spirit” Martha exclaimed, swinging around a bedpost, imitating an angel. “oh to wander where no man , nor woman, has wandered. To fly to the moon and back. To will a life to be!”
Adam scarlet lay on the overly-ornate bed, watching Martha, mockingly, leaping across the room.
“ I must inquire to why you scream your thoughts to me, you need not even speak for me to read what you are thinking. You were always so easily readable” scarlet whispered to her, thus making her lower her screaming to a more moderate level allowing her to hear what he said. Martha frowned at Scarlet, yet not successfully hiding her smile from him, and then resumed leaping across the room.
“So when do we leave, my dear.” Martha asked, while attempting to walk up a wall- in the most lavish of hotel rooms- obviously unsuccessfully.
“ Well we must be there when the moon is at its highest” he said, while drinking from a glass of whiskey, a skill that Martha would want to know how to do by the weeks end. “ which happens to be now, I’m afraid that your frolicking must come to an end” before Martha could clamber her way out from under the bed- pretending to be a Boggart or Brownie – Scarlet was already at the door, luggage in hand, and had somehow already redressed Martha and himself before she had known he had moved of the bed. This , Martha thought, is a thing he must teach me.
“ Have you got my hairbrush, love” Martha asked, still climbing out of under the bed. He had ignored her question, as his focus was at the door. She had not heard the other sets of footsteps walking into the room.
“Well, well, well. If it isn’t Adam Scarlet. With a mortal!” The beholder of this strongly husky voice had grasped Adam, holding him by his neck in the air. Another set of hands had grasped Martha’s, and now held her in the air also.
“ You have no business here, Victor, so leave!” Scarlet was kicking him in the stomach, but Victor barely winced.
“ Actually myself and Viol have an array of business here, Scarlet, so if you don’t mind, we must crack on.” His voice had turned into a snarl, and he looked at Scarlet as if he was a vermin.
“I always told you he was backwards, Victor, but would you listen to me – no!” Viol’s voice matched his pig-like face, as he snorted on every other word. He lifted a large mirror off the wall and placed it on the floor, kicking a chair out of the way in the process.
“ I am so glad that you decided to hold this meeting you were going to do at this time” Victor said while pointing at the full moon in the sky. “Other wise this plan of ours wouldn’t of been so great.”
“What are you going to do to me” Scarlet was now screaming, yet hoping no-one would here him from another room.
“Oh not to you, but to one who hath fallen in love with a cunning , shall be no more if the cunning is no longer too cunning to be” he quoted from a book in his head that Martha had not known, while pointing at her.
“ so the love must be in a state that the cunning must never see them, but both will be always close enough to be one” Viol finished for him
As he spoke Martha was against the mirror. And then she was gone.
