Seeing her 'mother' crying, Chrystal knew something was wrong.
Annabella, her adoptive mother, was sitting at the kitchen table, her shoulders racking with sobs. Her beautiful, middle-aged, elven face was covered by her beautiful, blonde locks and her pale hands. The church bells were chiming, telling most that midnight had come in the city of London. Annabella's sobs sounded like heartbeats. Very painful heartbeats.
The crying stopped as soon as Chrystal reached the doorway. Annabella's sea green eyes looked at her, disgraced and disappointed. No. Not at her. Through her as if she was a ghost. Chrystal hated those eyes so much. It was torture to her.
As soon as it had stopped, the crying started again. Chrystal wanted to walk to Annabella, to calm her down, to comfort her in the ways an adopted child could...
Heavy panting,stressed and scared, escaped Chrystal's lips. The image replayed in her mind over and over. Hr beautifully pale skin was covered in a deeply cold sweat...
