• Chapter 4

    As the humans got closer, the pups could hear them talking.

    "Did you guys hear the howling last night? I think there are wolves in this forest," a man with a deep voice said.

    "Yea, I did. Do you guys think the wolves have any pups we could sell?" another guy said.

    "Maybe," the first guy started,"lets set out some traps to be sure."

    That was all the pups heard, because at that moment Yuki sneezed. She felt Kiba nudge her, and the three pups got away from there fast. When they got back to the field, they decided to tell Shadow what they heard.

    "We have to be very careful for awhile," Shadow started after the pups told him,"That means you pups must stay in sight of the adults." Yuki heard Riku groan, but she did not say anything.

    Kiba and Riku started to go to the stream, but Yuki did not go with them. She wandered over to where her father was. She wanted to ask him a question she knew her mother would not know the answer to.

    "Hello father," she greeted when she saw him.

    "Hello Yuki," he answered. Her father was a black wolf with reddish marks on his head, paws, and back legs.

    "Can I ask you a question?" she asked.

    "Sure go ahead," he replied

    "Well, earlier me, Kiba, and Riku were spying on some humans, and heard that they wanted to trap and sell wolf pups. Why do they want to do that?" Yuki asked.

    Her father waited a few seconds before answering,"They want both adult wolves and pups for their fur." Yuki was shocked! Humans wanted to kill wolves for their fur! She knew her father was telling the truth, because he was a scout. Even though all wolves can hide appearance to humans and make them think they are humans also, scouts only do it when the alpha tells them he needs information. She thanked her father and went to find her friends.

    Chapter 5

    When Yuki found Kiba and Riku, they were planning something.

    "What are you guys doing?" she asked

    "We are going to sneak out tonight, and see what the humans are doing. Do you want to come with us?" Kiba told her.

    "Sure, but we have to be extra careful."

    "We already know that." Riku said while rolling his eyes.

    Kiba told Yuki that they would meet in the field, when all the adults went in their dens.
    Late that night, Yuki ran as quickly as she could, while staying very quiet.

    "Sorry I'm late, my father came in later than I thought he would." she told Kiba and Riku.

    "That's okay, your not too late," Kiba told her.

    "So are you guys ready?" Riku said, with an annoying tone,"because I am."
    When they got to the humans' campsite, they saw large cages filled with wolves!
    Riku walked a little closer to the cages, and saw that there was a chain on one of that wolf's legs! He backed up, but found his self in a cage!

    "Riku!" Kiba and Yuki yelled out.

    "Go get help, any one please," Riku pleaded," and hurry."
