• Chapter 1: A Lonely Boy

    Once apon a time there was a boy, the nicest and most obedient boy you would have ever known. He never sore, he never hit anyone, he was always generous, and he never disobeyed his parents or his teachers. He always done his homework and always keep his room nice and clean. But there was one thing wrong. He was a troubled boy he was always getting bullied at school and his parents didn’t really like him growing up the way he was but they did make him do all the house work. This boy didn’t have someone to call a ‘friend’ so he talked to the bugs and insects in his room. Even though his room was clean he liked having things he could talk to in it. He had a name for every spider and every fly, every maggot and every ant even for the countless amounts of cockroaches he had in his room. The insects even left one day and came back the next. He could understand most of the bugs and insects but some that just visited he couldn’t he said ‘they had an accent’. I almost forgot to tell you this young mans name his name was Sakamoto.

    Chapter 2: Shadow’s
    One day Sakamoto was in the house alone even his bugs went somewhere. He went up stairs to his room to find something. When he was up in his room he heard something, he heard his mother and fathers room door shake as though someone was in the room trying to get out. He just stood there in his room thinking what could it be? After about 5minutes of standing there looking at the door strange, he left his room closed the door and stood in front of his parents room looking at the door handle. He put one hand out almost on the room handle and the door stopped moving. He turned and started walking down the hall but then he heard the door shake again. He turned to see the door but it was different this time it was the spare room door that shook. Sakamoto looked confused he walked up to the spare room door and opened it. As soon as he opened it his room door shook. He keep the spare room door open and walked over to his room door, he was about to open the door when he felt something pass through him and go down stairs. He went downstairs trying to follow this ‘invisible presence’. When he got down stairs he saw something sitting on a big empty space on the floor. It looked like a shadow. It said “I am your friend Sakamoto”.


    Chapter 3: What Are You?
    Sakamoto looked at the shadow and said “who are you?”
    “I am no one in particular” it replayed
    Then Sakamoto said “then what are you?”
    It said “I am nothing but a shadow of a creature trying to find a new body”
    Sakamoto looked at the shadow confused and asked “what do you mean by ‘creature’?”
    The shadow said “a vampire but that’s all in the past”
    Sakamoto looked worried and said “how do you even know me?”
    The shadow laughed and said “you’re on the list”
    Sakamoto asked slowly “what list?”
    The shadow said “tell me Sakamoto, have you ever seen your shadow? Haven’t people treated you ‘different’ for no reason? That is the reason why you are on the list of people with no shadow the ‘unique’ people and you can adopt a shadow and gain what that had in a previous body”
    Sakamoto grinned “you mean since you’re an available shadow I can adopt you as mine and gain everything you had and you used to be a vampire what means I get the powers of a vampire?”
    The shadow laughed and said “you’re smarter than I though”
    Then Sakamoto said “what do we have to do?”
    The shadow said “not much just a little ritual”


    Chapter 4: The Ritual

    Sakamoto walked to the shadow but when he tried to touch it, it just parted like steam so Sakamoto said “this ritual…what do I have to do to complete it??”
    The shadow said “get a needle”
    So Sakamoto ran to his room and took the needle from his voodoo doll what had a tag on it marked ‘revenge’. Then he went down the stairs and asked the shadow “what is this for”
    The shadow replayed “stab your finger…make it bleed and feed me a drop of blood and no more”
    Sakamoto looked at his finger and raised his hand what had the pin in it and stabbed a small hole into his finger. He lifted his hand with the pin hole over the shadow and forced a single drop of blood on to the floor. The shadow instantly reacted; it started spinning around the drop of blood furiously like a tornado getting smaller and smaller until it everything was gone. Then the shadow reappeared and said “I taste good blood with troubles and uncompleted revenge”
    Sakamoto said “are you my shadow now or not?”
    The shadow said “not yet did you think that was all it took? You have 2 more steps left”
    “WHATS NEXT!” Sakamoto demanded to know
    The shadow said “I must rid you of everything unwanted”
    Sakamoto stared at the shadow and said “how do I do that?”
    The shadow laughed and asked “haven’t you been to the toilet before?”
    Sakamoto looked at the shadow confused “is that all?” he asked
    The shadow said “yes now go”
    Sakamoto said “ok but I think this is a stupid part of the ritual”


    Chapter 5: Kiss

    Sakamoto just came out the toilet and got back to the shadow
    “What took you so long” said the shadow
    Sakamoto replayed “calm down I had to crap”
    The shadow said “I didn’t need to know that much”
    Sakamoto sat on the floor and said “what’s next”
    The shadow said “wait until tomorrow. Right now go to sleep”
    Sakamoto said “but its school tomorrow”
    The shadow said “exactly”
    Sakamoto went to bed thinking what could it be the shadow had in mind for the 3rd task? Could it be something easy or hard? In the morning Sakamoto awoke with the sound of nothing in his home again he went down stairs and the shadow was there waiting on him.
    “Finally” it said
    “What have I to do” said Sakamoto
    “You know Alice. The girl you love” the shadow grinned evilly as it said those words that could mean nothing but more pain to Sakamoto
    “NO WAY IM NOT HURTING ALICE!” he said shouting at the shadow.

    Alice is the only girl Sakamoto loves. One day Sakamoto was being picked on as usual when he was walking home alone with bruises and cuts Alice ran up to him and asked him “are you ok Sakamoto, you look hurt” she didn’t just say it she said it in a loving voice he had never heard it sounded so nice to him and he felt like something replacing the pain.

    “I never said you had to” the shadow growled angrily at him
    Sakamoto asked “then what do you want me to do”
    The shadow said “kiss her…with your blood on your lips”
    Sakamoto shook his head and said “no I’m not stealing a kiss from loving Alice”
    The shadow said “then ask”
    Sakamoto said “she will refuse”
    The shadow started getting inpatient and ordered him “try, go to school now and try”
    Sakamoto walked out the door and to school on the way there he saw her. Sakamoto walked up and walked next to her and said in a broken embarrassed voice
    “Hello Alice nice morning”
    Alice looked at him and said “yes Sakamoto just a perfect morning”
    Sakamoto took out the pin and stabbed his finger again. Then he looked away so she couldn’t see him putting blood on his lips then looked at her and said in that voice he spoke in before
    “I don’t really want to do this but I love you and I kind of have to.”
    He grabbed her by the shoulders and kissed her lips then he ran away. Alice tried to tell Sakamoto something but he couldn’t hear her.
    When he got back to his house he looked the door and sat down in front of it crying into his arms saying “I’m so sorry Alice if I hurt you that shadow better have not got me to hurt you or he will pay”

    Chapter 6: Completion

    Sakamoto glared angrily at the shadow after picking him self off the ground and wiping away his tears. The shadow just shouted at Sakamoto “DON’T CRY YOU UNGREATFUL MAGOT”
    Sakamoto shed one last tear and said “don’t tell me what I can and can’t do just tell me what is next”
    The shadow said nothing it just crawled across the floor to Sakamoto then crawled up his leg down his through and then became his shadow.
    Sakamoto fell to his knees and said ‘that hurt more than I though’.
    The shadow snared and said ‘you don’t think good enough’
    Sakamoto closed his eyes and fell asleep on the floor

    Chapter 7: Different

    When Sakamoto awoke he stood up and walked to the hall where a mirror was hanging on the wall. He looked different. He face grew pale, paler than usual. He had grown fangs and his nails had grown long and pointy. Sakamoto put his hand to his cheek and said “ah, what the hell?” then he realised that his nails cut through his skin clean then he heard the shadow laugh and say “are you trying to find your powers? It will be hard you have lots”
    Sakamoto replayed “no. I didn’t mean to do that”
    The shadow sighed and said “believe what you want now lets go seek revenge”
    Sakamoto asked confused “revenge? What do you mean?”
    The shadow said “I can tell you want to seek revenge I can see in your mind but there is one locked door.”
    Sakamoto said “I’m not opening my mind to you I’m keeping there sealed. Now I shall go to school” Sakamoto walked out the door and to school. When he arrived everyone looked at him strange. Then Sakamoto whispered “I don’t want to kill them, only cause them a lot of agonizing pain.”
    The shadow laughed inside Sakamoto’s head and said “I like the way you think”
    While the shadow was talking the first person Sakamoto wanted to hurt pushed Sakamoto to the side and said “wimp.” Sakamoto’s hand grew red and he said “what was that arse wipe”
    The person said in an angry tone “got a little gut’s now hiv ya!”
    Sakamoto said “more then that” and forced his hand into the person’s chest and lifted him off the ground
    “What the f***!” the person yelled
    Sakamoto through the person to the ground and said “don’t think about hurting anyone else again and this is a warning to everyone not just you”
    The person curled up into a ball and said “what did you do? My stomach is burning”
    Sakamoto just turned around and whispered to the shadow “Alice better be o.k. or else”
    The shadow laughed and said “please. What are you going to do to me if she isn’t?”
    Sakamoto knew he was right, without the shadow he was hopeless.

    Chapter 8: Fate

    Sakamoto didn’t want to seek revenge anymore…he just wanted to be with Alice…but now Sakamoto doesn’t even look at her because of what he did it is his way of torturing him self, he didn’t deserve to look at her. After that day at school he said to the shadow “go now or else”
    “Or else what” the shadow sniggered
    “Or else ill get rid of you” Sakamoto said with fear in his through
    “How will you do that??” the shadow questioned
    Sakamoto picked up a knife and pointed it at his through
    “Don’t go that far” the shadow said worried
    Sakamoto put the knife on a table and the shadow left from his body
    The shadows final words where “don’t think it is all your way”
    What did it mean?
    The next day Sakamoto found a note under his door. It was from Alice it said she wanted to see him. Things weren’t right. When he got there all the lights where off but one. Sakamoto went in and went to the room with the light. When he got there he froze. He seen Alice he only wishes it was just her. She had a dark claw like shape around her neck and he heard “the only way to go back on your deal is to end the one that started it”
    “NO, STOP PLEASE!” Sakamoto shouted
    Sakamoto ran up to Alice and grabbed her hand. On the way he accidentally hit the light switch and it all went black. No shadows… Sakamoto took Alice out the house and ran to his own.
    When they got to Sakamoto’s house Alice asked him what happened. He told her. She giggled. He blushed. She kissed him. He blushed more and asked “I though you hated me”
    Alice giggled and said “I could never hate you”
    Suddenly Sakamoto knew it wasn’t pity Alice felt for him…
    …It was love.
