I found myself walking one day on top of a rotten peach. I had no shoes on, and it felt disgusting against my feet. The peach did not have a sweet, mouth watering smell. It had a horrific odor of a thousand betrayals. The world around me was over sized. I felt like I was trapped in another world, but I was still in the same one. I wanted off of this horrible peach. I began to cry big sweet tears. A single tear rolled off of my face and onto the rotten peach. As soon as it hit the peach, the world became larger. The peach sat on the counter. I picked it up and sniffed it. Rotten. I walked over to the trash and hurled it into the can. I closed my eyes feeling relieved and my heart felt whole again.
When I opened my eyes I was walking on a fresh and sweet peach that smelled like the magic of a hundred summers. I scooped up a hunk of the juicy fruit and took a bite. I smiled to myself. This peach was ripe.
