Below the city of New York, the feared Technomaster and his minions hid away in his underground cavern. The Technomaster himself sat at the end of a long table, tapped impatiently as his minions argued amongst themselves about the necessity of capes.
“Enough!” his deep, thickly accented voice echoed off the cavern walls. Instantly, there was silence except for the occasional spark of electricity and the drip drip drip of water.
“We will be wearing the capes during our mission. It is part of the uniform, stylish or not,” he pounded his fists on the table and rose from his seat, quickly ending the argument. Silence again. “So it’s settled,” it was a statement, not a question. “We will begin our operation on the 21st.” As if on que, a sleek concrete building appeared on the large screen behind him. “This is our target – the United Nations Headquarters in Manhattan.”
With his back perfectly straight, and his arms crossed, he started to walk around the table; his huge metallic figure loomed over the insignificant and disgusting shapes of the minions. “With use of the shrink ray we will gain access through the south side of the building.” While passing by a minion cleaning his ear out with a company pen, the Technomaster delivered a hard slap to the back of his head. “I assume all of you know your parts.” A wave of nods and murmurs of agreement spread through the room. The United Nations slogan is “It’s your world,” and the Technomaster decided to take that literally. Very soon, the world would be his!
The meeting was interrupted the phone. “What?” he growled as he pressed a flashing button on his control panel.
“Don’t use that tone of voice with me young man,” a woman’s voice blasted though the speakers of the meeting room. “I just called to remind you that your father’s friends are coming over tonight so you have to be home early.”
“The hours of super villainy are inflexible mother! Plans must be made foolproof. If there’s just one…”
“You know how important this is to your father!” the woman cut him off. “Oh, and how many potatoes do you want with your dinner?”
“Heed my words woman and heed them well. I’ll have two potatoes.”
“Alright honey, I won’t hold you up any longer. I love you.” There was a click over the speakers as the woman hung up and the minions tried their best to hide their sniggers.
