I was lying down on my bed. My face was shoved into my pillow. Our house kept shaking from all of the explosions outside. Suddenly, the door started to open. I reached under my pillow and pulled out a pistol. It was my parents. “We have to leave,” said my dad. “They’re almost here.” “Who dad,” I asked. “I don’t know.”
My mom went to my bed, grabbed my arm, and pulled me towards the door. Then my dad reached under my bed and pulled out a shotgun. “How long has that been there,” I thought. We rushed down the hallway, turned, and went out the door towards the car. We were almost there when a shot rang out into the night.
We turned. There it was. Whatever it was it certainly wasn’t human. It has bluish grey. Its head was curved back and had three indentions on its face. It shot again. A laser came out of the barrel. This time it hit my mom. She flew onto the ground, dead.
“No!” yelled my dad. He rapidly started firing the pistol. One of the bullets hit the armor on his leg. Another on his breastplate. Then my dad hit the alien’s unprotected hand. The gun flew out of his hand. Green blood spurted out everywhere. What happened next was the most terrifying thing that I have ever seen.
Apparently this made him angry. A big frill came up around its neck. It opened its mouth and let out a terrible shriek. It got in a running position and charged my dad. He started shooting, but it was too late.
The alien lunged towards my dad. Claws came out of its fingers. Then it literally started to rip my dad to shreds. I had already picked up the shotgun and had started to back up. The alien turned and noticed me. I was about ten feet away when it started to charge. And then it jumped.
It was about two feet away when I blew its guts out with the shotgun. I dogged the dead flying body and ran to my parents. The alien had totally ripped my dad to pieces. My mom had a hole straight through her head. I was only 12.
I vowed revenge. This alien killed my parents. I had no sympathy for it. My parents fought for their lives and from now on, their bloodshed will be my motive. The aliens will rue the day they killed my parents. My name is Andrew Fredricks and this is my story.
I was kneeling by my parents, when I heard a rustling in the bushes. I quickly spun around. The bushes shook again. “Who’s there?” I asked. I pointed the shotgun at the bushes. “Don’t shoot,” yelled a familiar voice.
“Bowe is that you?” I asked. “Present,” my friend said in a joking manner. Bowe is my best friend from school. Every time someone says his name he yells present. It’s kinda of stupid but I’m ok with it.
“Dude you scared the crap out of me,” I said. “Hey, you pointed a shotgun in my face,” he replied. “Touché.” “So long have you been here?” I asked. “Long enough, I’m sorry dude,” he said. “Its okay, I'm fine.”
He gestured towards the alien. “What was that thing?” Bowe asked. “I don’t know, but more are probably on their way.” “We should go,” Bowe suggested. “That would be the smart choice,” I said in a joking manner.
Bowe picked up my pistol, while I wondered over to the alien carcass. I bent down and picked up the laser gun. “This is a pretty powerful gun,” I said. “And it probably doesn’t run out of ammo,” Bowe added. “Ok, let’s move!”
“Where are we going?” Asked Bowe. “Anywhere but here,” I answered. We started running down the street. It was hard to stay up, with all of the explosions shaking the ground. “Wait!” Bowe stopped me. “We’re head towards downtown,” he said. “So,” I replied. “Sooo… downtown is probably the aliens main target,” he explained. “O.K. Lets take Central,” I told him. Just then, Central exploded in gunfire. We would have to go through downtown.
“HOLY CRAP!” I shouted. “Don’t yell, just run,” Bowe cried. We started sprinting down the road. The farther we got, the harder the ground shook. We were getting closer to the source of the explosions. But we had no choice.
There are three things I remember about that run. First, there were the sounds. I could hear people yelling, guns firing, dogs barking. But the worst sound was the occasional shriek of an alien. It sent chills down my spine, for I knew someone was about to die.
The second thing was the “scenery”. I ran past houses with huge chunks blown out of the sides. I saw uprooted trees. Fire all around. There was debris everywhere.
Finally there were the corpses. It was horrible. They where just lying in the streets. I hated it. Every once in a while I ran past someone I knew or someone my parents knew. It was sad.
It had taken about an hour to get to the city. “Okay,” started Bowe. “Let’s try to find the safest way around.” “Safe?” I asked. “Nooo… Safest,” he corrected. At that moment, we heard a shriek.
At first I thought it was from far away, until Bowe yelled,” Andy, duck!” I fell to the ground just in time to see the alien fly over my head. Just after it landed, Bowe kicked it in the side. Then it “frilled”, shrieked, and charged Bowe.
He tried to dodge it, and almost did, but the aliens claws ripped across his face. Bowe fired his pistol as he fell to the ground. He hit the alien’s side. It landed on its back. Bowe fired again, this time, on the ground. The shot somehow paralyzed the alien. I walked up to it, held the ray gun to its head, and pulled the trigger.
It twitched for a few seconds and then stopped moving. Bowe stood up. His hand was covering the left side of his face. His cheek was covered in blood. “Oh my gosh are you O.K.?” “I’m fine he replied. Bowe yawned. “We need to find somewhere to sleep,” I said. “What time is it?” I asked. “3:21 AM!” he replied. “Where will we sleep,” he asked me. “I think I know.”
It took us a while to get there. The outside of the building looked like a barn. It was made of dark brown wood planks. The doors where made of steel. To open them, you had to heave them to the side. The roof was made of tin, but colored burnt orange. A couple of mobile offices where placed alongside the building. In the front, there was a big suspended sign. It had a starry background and in the center there was a cow sleeping on a puffy, purple cloud. Big, white, lighted letters under it read, Purple Dreams Inc.
“What is this place,” Bowe asked. “It’s my dad’s warehouse. He owns a matrress business. It’s the perfect place to sleep.” “This place is cool,” exclaimed Bowe. “Let’s go inside,” I said as I pulled open the doors.
There were wooden crates everywhere. Crates on shelves. There were crates on the floor. I even say a couple crates hanging from the ceiling.
“What’s in all of them,” Bowe asked me. “Ummmm… mattresses, stuffing, pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, even hose stupid little clap lights.” “Nice,” Bowe said.
“Hey Andy, what happens if the aliens attack while we’re asleep.” “Good question. Come here I want to show you something.” We walked over to a dome shaped indention in the ground and a square one. The square one was a secret hatch. “Open it,” I told Bowe. He reached down, grabbed the handle and pulled up. The hatch opened to reveal an extraordinary bucker. “Oh my god,” whispered Bowe.
The bunker had stone flooring. The counters were made of hard granite. The walls were made of white tile. The light was blinding. There was a huge pantry, probably filled with food. There were three backup generators. The hatch could be enforced with a five inch thick titanium sheet, two inch thick shatter proof glass, and solid steel rods. And the best part was two ultra sized beds. Someone could live down here for months.
“Hey before we go to bed, I kinda wanna check the ray gun,” Bowe told me. “Okay, I’ll go get it,” I said. I grabbed it from the table and took it to Bowe. “I wonder what this does he said as he pressed a button.
Then the gun started to shake and make strange noises. Bowe let go of it. It started floating in mid-air. The gun started glowing light green. Suddenly, there was a blinding flash. And then everything was back to “normal”. Something was smoking on the ground. But there wasn’t one gun, there were two.
“What the?” I said. I turned to Bowe. He looked disoriented. I walked over to the guns and picked one up. There was a button that had something that looked kinda like the alphabet. I pushed it and a voice started talking in a bunch of different languages. Finally I heard the English translation as it said, “State you language.” “English,” I yelled. All of the text instantly turned to English.
Another button said the words p***k. I pressed that one. A small finger p***k attacked to a wire came out. It, of course, pricked my finger. Then a voice came from the gun telling my name, my birthday, my enemies, even my brain capacity.
Finally there was a big twistable knob with a red button on top right next to a small screen. At that time the screen said pistol. I twisted the knob and it had different kinds of guns. When the word sniper riffle came across the screen I pressed the red button.
The gun got kind of hot and started forming itself inward. Then a loud pop and the ray pistol had been tuned into a ray sniper rifle. This one gun could change into about thirty different guns. It bet the aliens didn’t expect someone using their own super weapon against them.
I walked over to Bowe. He was still disoriented. I started to shake him. “Bowe,” I said. “Bowe come here I have to show you all I have found out about the guns.” When he came out of his dazed state I helped him with all of the guns settings.
After that I locked up and got ready for bed. I was tired. I fell asleep by about 4:20. It had been a long night.

- Hmm... I kind of like this. It needs work, and the 1st person writing seems a bit rough, but it's a very good start.
