There is a female in there with him..but perhaps the sense of loneliness comes from the fact that our other female in the zoo died while giving birth to the second male orangutan this spring.

- I agree with p o s e, she put it a bit more angrily but yes, berry maybe your the stupid one, not the animal. Thats how he or she naturally looks, and he or she is NOT a "stupid thing" He or she is an intelligent animal.

- orangutans are my favorite ape, cause whenever I see them at the zoo they always play the most and are the most interesting to see interact with each other...maybe your orangutan was alone and thats why he was sad?
