How about when little, she ran away from home and got lost. She finds herself in an abandoned *or what seems like it* garden and falls asleep on a bench. Wasps come out from a nest under the bench and start buzzing around her, but it doesn't freak her out. The longer she stays, the more the wasps take a liking to her and they provide her with honey to eat. She dedicates her life to wasps as a tribute to the ones that saved her. I raned out of ideas from there.
